But Saleh better hire a young and creative OC to go with Ward
Assuming he doesn't get a head coaching job it's Mike McDaniel. Saleh is getting the SF boys back together

It's going to delay Cam Wards career!
Unless he gets a cracker jack OC.

I have never understood the desire of NFL owners to hire re-treads.

What are you looking for in a head coach?

Someone who has completely failed at being a head coach. Multiple times if possible.

I think it's meh, but I refuse to judge anyone on how they did as coach of the Raiders, Jets, or Browns. You take those jobs for the experience and/or the buyout. Get fired in a year or two and move on.

Last 25 years or so the castoff coaches from these teams don't go on to make their failed tenures look like an anomaly. Bowles is the only retread from one of those organizations to have any kind of success in his 2nd chance.

Retread coaches in general don't have high success rates. Lower when you take out the ones that weren't fired initially, IE Sean Payton, and I'm not sure if Bilichik was fired from the Browns or Ravens or not, but I don't count him as a retread either.

Belichick was fired but the Browns weren't the laughable shite Browns back then.
