a few weeks ago I thought spurrier was bullshite because his name has come up for every opening since accepting the USC job even before he coached a game there. But this time I think there's a pretty good chance of it happening

pinkel is an idiot if he leaves anywhere anytime soon.

daniel is just a junior this year, so they will probably be in the very thick of it next year as well.

add in the fact that he's got the #1 qb in the nation in his backpocket, missouri could be a pretty formidable team in the Big12 for the forseeable future.

I just don't think our next coach is going to be Spurrier, Tuberville, Bob Stoopes, etc.

it isn't going to be stoops

tubby would likely come if he could, but i think LSU knows it will be hard to get the money to buy him out

SOS is white-hot in rumorville. far too many coincidences for it to be nothing

so I'm trying to figure out who it will be because these obvious names everyone is throwing out to me is just a pipe dream.

why is SOS a pipe dream?

i thought it was well documented that spurrier has bitterness towards lsu.

i don't see why he'd jump ship now. how old is he?

however i was thinking about it...SOS did go to newton last year and they had success with it

He only went to him because his OLine was horrible. If he didnt have to do, he wouldnt have. He would not need to do this at LSU because our line should be good next year. Jefferson would def. lose his spot. Lee and Hatch might be 1-2.

lombardi was the president at florida when spurrier was hired.
that is the connection.
as far as ill will, i think spurrier hated LSU no more or less then any other opponent he played.

A pipe dream would be somewhere more along the lines of a Cowher or Pete Carroll.

SOS is totally attainable. It's really his call to come here if Les leaves. Not really a huge buyout.

things could have been much worse under Les. Probably could have been better too, but he's left the program in great shape so no hard feelings

If he came here and won, people would cream their pants and claim him as LSU's.

That's a big "IF"...
I'm not sure what makes people think Spurrier is a slam dunk to win big at LSU.

YES, he won a NC @ Florida...ONE! I'm not making light of that but he was there for 12 years, figure it took him 4 years to build the program. He's still 1 for 8, and it was over 10 years ago.

Miles at LSU, last three years ('05-'07), quality program, lots of talent 32-6.

Spurrier at Florida, his last three years ('99-'01) again, quality program, lots of talent) 29-9.

Spurrier at SC, last three years ('05-'07)
21-16 (7-5,8-5,6-6)
AND DROPPED HIS LAST FIVE GAMES THIS SEASON!

I know the argument....He doesn't have "LSU" talent...

How about the other 4 SEC games he dropped? Does he not have as good of talent as them?

If he doesn't...Shame on him, he is the head coach isn't he?

If you listen to some on the rant, merely putting the Spurrier name plate on the door will spark a stampede of 4 and 5 star recruits.

I'm not really convinced it works like that!
