there is no better place for him to drop into than LSU right now and prove he still has it

well, i think it's a valid question.

he's 62. it's not unreasonable to think that he might not have the same drive and work ethic as when he was a younger man.

he made fun of other coaches who worked hard in the nfl.

is he ol ball coach hungry?

dude supposedly spurrier took like 3 hour naps and played golf everyday when he was at UF

i don't think he's ever been one of those, "get up at 5am after 4 hours sleep and get on it" coaches

Jimbo Fisher--I know he would love to come back here and we had a better offense with him.

Steve Sarkisian--USC Off. Coordinator. Former college QB at BYU. Can recruit his arse off and is young.

Jim Leavitt--USF. Started out great and can recruit. He is a keeper.

Butch Davis--Cancer might be the only problem. And, he might not want to leave.

Pinkel--Mizzou. Spread Offense with the talent here.....WOW!!!

that's what i'm saying. do we need someone like that?
when spurrier started, he was the most innovative mind in the game.

the game has changed. there have been evolutions upon evolutions since the fun and gun. And the fun and gun is pretty much a standard formation now in college football. When spurrier started, it was like, "what the hell? 4 wos?"

college d's run nickel and dime packages as often as their base defenses.

i don't think spurrier is washed up. but i think i'd much rather embrace somebody on their way up, then on their way down.

On a roll with SFP today.

Think back to the 90's -- Spurrier's offenses were not terribly complex, and Stoops' defenses attacked like there was no tomorrow. Spurrier just put guys out there, their OL blocked like madmen, and he relied on deadly accurate QB's to put the ball in the hands of sure-handed WR's. Occasionally, they would kill you running the ball (remember when LSU beat them in 1997, Fred Taylor scored all 3 Florida TDs). It was a system offense combined with an aggressive defense. The combination can still work today with the right guys. Spurrier can make it work at LSU, and he doesn't need to be in his office for 18 hours a day to make it work.

well i still see him come in and put in some grea Xs and Os work

like USC's first TD drive against LSU this year. he sliced up our D when "LSU's D" still meant something

yeah, but getting beat in some of the other non-lsu losses are pretty inexcusable.

My dream staff is Tubby, Crowton and Muschamp. The thought of it just scares me.

My reach favs: Tubby, Tedford, Schiano

More realistic candidates: Brian Kelley, Brett Bielema, Paul Johnson, Jagodzinski (LSU and NFL experience, QB guru, and we could bring in a top flight DC)

When did Jimbo lead an offense to 40+ pts a game? With all of the talent LSU had on offense last year, we still managed a mighty 33.7 pts a game, and that includes defensive and special teams TD's.
