I also believe there was someone to intentionally leak that info to the media. For what reason who knows.

Ole Miss doesn't want to appear weak and 2nd rate in the public eye.

Lane is already brazenly sending his family to Gainesville and BR looking at real estate, and didn't do a good job keeping it quiet.

Ole Miss is in damage control mode.

So you're saying we should expect to not score.

This has already been debunked on fricking national TV you clown

Why, because Lane said so and coaches never lie?

So LK was lying on the Pat Mcafee show earlier today?

Words matter. He rejected the word “ultimatum”

It can be something other than an ultimatum and he didn’t lie

The longer this plays out the better for LSU.

Or it could be just the opposite.

Kiffin has a job. He doesn't need LSU. On the other hand, LSU needs a coach. And I'm sure they would like one relatively soon to allow him time to build a competitive roster for next season. If OM makes the CFP, the earliest OM's season would end would be the just ahead of the 4th week of December. If they win the first game, then OM is playing until at least Jan. 1.

If LSU waits for Kiffin and he ultimately spurns them, then they run the risk of having their other choices picked over and left to hire from a less desirable pool of candidates.

IMO, the longer it delays, the less likely LSU would be willing to wait.

You keep saying this.

You are aware that a lot of things can happen in the red zone, right? Sure, you can score a TD all right. But you can also fumble, throw an int, lose the ball on downs or kick a FG (settle for a mediocre candidate).

This isn’t the comforting analogy you think it is.

I believe this is exactly his point and the why he is using the analogy.

Don’t forget about the early signing period when 80% of all recruits sign. So we are recruiting right now and having no worries. We sign folks regardless if Lane leaves after the season.

Sounds like what you’re saying is Lane may or may not go to LSU.

How do you always get these informative scoops?

You’re not going to throw your current employer under the bus and broadcast if they did give him an ultimatum. He would burn a bridge and lose all leverage man. Same reason you shouldn’t bash an employer you’re about to give your notice to. You might need them one day.

Tell me what I was wrong about and show me why

Shouldn’t be so hard

Yall are just so desperate to cling on to whatever fake news gets rolled out on this board

You should be careful. This is how you get your heart broken. All you know is that I said something you disagree with so you got all in your feelings about it. I’m a douchebag because I want the ‘sauces’ ( ) here to be vetted a little more thoroughly before we run around thinking something is a ‘done deal’?? Ok then

However I will say this, it is not a smoke screen. Lane is legitimately interested

Saying things like this can diminish the believability of the rest. Nobody outside of Lane Kiffin and his agent know why they're doing what they're doing.

If he's using LSU to get more money elsewhere, there's no way to tell that. He will conduct himself and the people around him exactly like he would if he had genuine interest. That includes doing things like sending his ex and his kid on a plane to feign interest, if he wanted.

When millions are on the line, posturing in the form of public acting is common.

Oh for fricks sake

He’s using this analogy because he don’t know shite.. this is his parachute for when this jet crashes and burns

Basically he’s saying as much as he possibly can without saying shite at all.. it’s crazy how yall can’t see this and fall for it every single time

At this point yall gotta be suffering from battered woman’s syndrome

Lane is doing to LSU what he did to Auburn. His entire existence is a troll.

You guys... yes you, and the other one (maybe one in the same person?) just won't leave it alone. Bringing all that BS here for what... stirring the hornet's nest for fun? Neither one of you know shite.

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Probably doesn't know anything

But the reality is that its true: deals aren't done until they are done.

There are literally hundreds of examples of coaches changing their mind last minute
