Since it's already confirmed that O was offered over 500, this argument is moot.

I'll have to see it before I believe LSU will pay a dline coach and recruiting coordinator half a mil. How much for the DC, $750K?

That's a significant increase in salary for our asst coaches. Break out the checkbook.

Guys,

This has been covered already. There is only one guy on this board that you should worry about anytime you get on this board...belowpar. O has been offered over 500 and will assume the assistant head coach, which is why he will be paid more then the DC.

not necessarily. Florida State has 3 assistant head coaches; they just vary the titles a bit.

Can you point me to a post by belowpar where he has said this?

The school(Ole Miss) will pay Orgeron 75 percent of his $900,000 salary through 2009, minus whatever he makes in his next job.

Thanks. I had just looked at his posts and the context didn't jump out at me.

He should work for $100k, then, and stick Ole Miss with the rest. If he's negotiating for salary, obviously that's for new money, and hopefully money that will extend past 2009. So I doubt 2009 is the sticking point.

Now, there' more to life than money, but I can't blame the guy for trying to get the compensation package right.

BP said LSU's offer is higher than his current package with the Saints.

Porter will be the Assistant HC on the offensive side, O on the defensive side. Both Coordinators coach from the box(assuming Chavis is the guy). You will have both Assistant HC's on the sidelines as field comanders for O and D.

Works for me.

He should back load the contract.

When Pelini left, Miles didn't hire another Defensive coach did he? I don't think so

So we have an extra spot, plus we saved almost 750k this year on Pelini, I am sure Miles has an open Check book this year

With the increase Miles received, I don't think we saved anything...

With the additional revenue Miles generated by winning the BCSNC, we're probably ahead of the game by more than enough.

The HC budget and the Asst, staff budget are seperate line items

Not the same thing

If want to compete, we have to pay

Joe Alleva knows the deal..no worries
