Based on geography (Vegas), the time he registered (Spring of 2007), I am inferring that Vegas4tiger is Gary Crowton's brother. I am basing that on my own analysis of his posts. His best information has been on the QBs, but he also has had good info on coaching decisions, and some recruiting. I hope I haven't flushed him, but I have to call them like I see them under these circumstances.

You know I appreciate the info but you really need to get out more often.

Believe me, I know. I'm deciding on whether or not to crash, or stay up until they start serving breakfast, then crash. Had the number of posts been higher, maybe I would have been deterred. It only took about 3 minutes to scan, and another 3 or 4 minutes to determine patterns. After reading his profile and posts, I am giving the Rant/Coaching Changes board my best estimate of who the poster is representing himself to be (without, of course, him saying it.)

This is directly in contradiction to my position on those trying to out Belowpar. However, belowpar has been careful about making particular claims about his identity. Likewise, Chicken vouches for belowpar, so that should be as good as we need on him. Vegas4tiger, on the other hand, seems to have insider knowledge, and this is my analysis of how he came by it, and should we believe it.

I do, at this point. That's particularly easy when 1.) It's very likely, and 2.) It's the outcome I wanted when it was first suggested.

I'm calling it: "The Soul Patrol - Coaching Edition."

I may have confused Coach O with the Chavis offer..

My bad

I think he did indicate that Chavis seemed to lead for the DC job

Thanks. It's rainy and dusty (a bad combination). The only thing that bothers me, daily, is that our dumpsters sound like artillery (incoming). I'm already used to guys test-firing their crew served weapons. And I'm more or less a Fobette, so I'm no more at risk than someone living and working in the greater Los Angeles, New Orleans or Detroit metropolitan areas. I just don't like being away from home.

Correct. There was no confirmation that the offer to Chavis was ever extended (to my knowledge).

We're not looking for Bin Laden in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He's Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan)'s problem.

With his health problems and the conditions that he lived under, if he did not find safe haven in Somalia or Yemen, probably dead. Not really a regular topic of conversation.

The guys that just rotated in, most of them were stationed in Hawaii. How would you feel? You're 20, you're living in paradise, then the boss says, "You've got to go to Iraq next Thursday."

Troop morale was dented only slightly by the results of the national elections. Other than that, spirits are high, and the mission is going very well. One sad note, during the transition, there was a flight crew that was literally one week from heading home. You hate to lose anybody, but these guys' families were already making the welcome home banners, scheduling homecoming events, etc. Really sad.

But that's part of it. They could have crashed on a training mission stateside, or in Germany, for that matter.

There's no way I can put into words how "special" you are. Your service to protect our country and what it stands for is just overwhelming.

Thank you so much for your sacrifice. May God Bless you and keep you!!

Considering that a Metairie guy got smoked on the WB while in a fast food drive through the other day, you may be safer than here...

God bless, have as nice a Christmas as you can under the circumstances and always know how much you all mean to all of us.

It is interesting how your perspective changes when you're deployed. Stateside, the military is just like the rest of bureaucratic government - they're terrified of small arms and ammo. Some forts still have skeet ranges, and of course there is the annual weapons qualification, but that's it.

Not here, everybody is walking around with heat, and bullets. I was just thinking the other day - we have girls, female soldiers, 18, 19 years old, just walking around in the middle of the night. However, with M-16s or M-4s, and 30 rounds of ammo, it makes them a far less attractive target than, say, New Orleans East, or the upper west side of Manhattan, where they will not be so well armed.
