The only thing I'm worried about Coach O is potentially getting LSU busted for illegal recruiting.

That kind of stuff is encouraged at USC because they know nothing will ever happen to them, but here the NCAA may be quick to throw down the hammer.

How quick these knuckleheads forget how many times Coach O had recruits change their declarations on signing day. Or how several SEC coaches turned him in.

quit being a dick. Meaning I got to hear all about O from the high school coaches, Ole Miss boosters,
and others. If he had stayed one more year his recruiting would've really sucked as he managed to either alienate everyone or convince them he was nuts.

Could that be because of the talent that he has to work with

I only live in Brandon so what do I know

I tell you what, maybe he wasn't the best HC, but he is a very good DL coach and recruiter (two time recruiting Coordinator of year, from Rivals) It's his passion, if you good, you don't have to cheat, why suggest he cheated

Turned him in huh? Link please?

the dirty recruiter IMO is Urban Meyer

Bash all you want on O, he isn't for sure coming, but if he does, I welcome him with open arms. 95% of Tiger fans who post here, want him too, now what superior knowledge do you have that the majority don't?

This teams needs some nasty in your face coaching, the intensity is lacking, thus we are losing our ground in the SEC if we can't recapture it

The inner circle says coach O would be a great fit!

The Saints are working to keep him, so that suggest you don't know what you are talking about

When was the last time the NCAA "threw down the hammer" on any big time football program?

yeah, why would people want the best recruiter in college football as a position coach since he failed as a head coach?? DUMMY NEGATIGERS need to wise up and march for Jimmy Brumbaugh.

I live in Jackson too, and I have talked to ex-players under O, and they were not ringing endorsements. But, that was as a Head Coach. I think he was way out of his league in that respect. I am willing to give him a chance due to his recruiting prowess and he would certainly be an upgrade at DL coaching. But because of the things I have been told I am wary. And I know nothing because I live in Jackson, in fact my IQ dropped at least 50 pts when I crossed the state line!!!!

new mexico state is the last domino to fall. They are the only major school (army as well) left without a coch. Once he is announced all stafs, at least i hope will fill out including ours. Hopefull they bodes well for us getting walker. And then mallory can be named dc over there. best case scenario would be mcelwin(sp?), named head coach, mallory dc, walker dc at lsu. Bama is screwed and lsu dominates

Got this off another board fromthought I'd share with the board.

On the way to work today I was listening to LA's equivalent of 1210 The Score, and they were talking about UCLA and recruiting. The host of the show had a Bruin insider on, and he talked for about 10 minutes about how DW is a very serious contender to bolt for LSU, and how that was impacting UCLA's recruiting at the moment.

Essentially he said that sources at the school believe that if DW doesn't get the New Mexico St. gig then he's a lock for LSU. It'll include a very large pay raise, and that he's been on the phone with DJ McCarthy who has raved about the quality of life in BR vs. LA. The 2 coached together on the UCLA staff in '06.

of course there is also people claiming chavis and orgeron is a done deal, so who knows??? Seems like we pretty much have the pick of the two if walker doesnt take the NMS job.

and since miles's number 1 choice is chavis then i still think that is who we get.

hopefully BP will fill us in tomorrow.

merry christmas

Just thought I'd share.

I believe this

When I talked to Coach Mac last Saturday he told me he really loved BR over LA..sounded sincere too even though I don't know why the hell he would

He also sounded like he had been talking to Walker because I asked him in Dwayne was going to reunite with him in BR this year and he smiled and said that Walker isn't letting him in on anything about that... it was a curious answer the way he said it

the problem in coaching, and coach o is in the process of learning this, is that coaches by nature are arrogant. they must believe their way is the best way. however, not all coaches make good head coaches. coach o, i believe, will be/is a good d line coach, just not head coach. they need to "know their roll".

so quit with the "you'll be sorry" crap
