Sorcerer is really a terrible name, especially from the director of the Exorcist. I know it came out right after Star Wars and that killed its box office but the title sure didn’t help

Sorcerer free on YouTube

I searched and didn’t see if this was discussed but William Friedkin’s Sorcerer is streaming on YT for free. It’s been hard to find on streaming and physical media in the past, just a PSA for those interested in one under looked gem from a great director.

The Cult around a coach that had some decent success is truly fascinating. He did well here but there are other coaches in the country that could also win here, just find one.

ACC should be in Atlanta. Move SEC to New Orleans and/or Dallas

The CCG should be eliminated

Yes, yes he is

If the Mannings are "OleMiss", why did Peyton go to Tennessee

Ole Miss under NCAA investigation and thought to be heading for probation was still a real threat in the 1990s.

Arch go to Texas

Maybe he wanted a different path and didn’t want to be compared to his Uncle and grandpa? Maybe they don’t like Kiffin or maybe he had other QBs he liked better? Maybe he just liked Sark and Texas better? No one owes any school anything just because they are in the same state.

He was very lucky for that.

Was it luck or a good move by the Eagles?

quote:

Tim Tebow could’ve been an NFL starter too

He was a starter and won a playoff game maybe Hurts lasted longer because he’s better? You can’t just put anyone on a team with talent else where and win.
quote:

Pretty remarkable a guy who was benched in college for not being able to make the throws ended up in a NFL starting role

Part of the reason he transferred to Oklahoma on Saban’s suggestion is to become a better passer, which he did.

quote:

There are 100s of QBs that come through that are completely dependent on who drafts them to determine will they wash out If hurts for drafted by like 80% of nfl teams he would have washed out. There were very few teams tha he could survive. He happened to be drafted to one

I agree with this, though I would add that maybe just maybe that’s why the Eagles drafted him :dunno:
quote:

Do you think this is Hurts?

No I know it is because I looked at the box score from the Denver game that was referenced in one of the tweets you posted. It was 17-3 after 3Q, Hurts was 23-38-280-2-0, he also didn’t fumble. Barkley had a whopping 30 yards rushing on 6 att. So was it Hursts fault they couldn’t or didn’t even try to run? Was it his fault the defense gave up 18 in one quarter? Please explain why it’s his fault when they lose but he gets zero credit when they win.

quote:

When the other team scores over 20 the eagles have a losing record.

And what is the record of all other teams when they give up 20? When you cherry pick stats with no context it looks more like an agenda. I would agree he’s not an elite passer, so what? He fits the offense the Eagles run and they’ve been successful with him. Allen wasn’t available form them
quote:

In games which the eagles defense doesn’t shut another team down, can Jalen keep pace?

Are we giving the QB credit for team wins or not?

If you have a 14 point lead in the 4th and lose and the QB has no turnovers and 280 yards passing how exactly is it his fault? Don’t think they win if he throws 25 passes instead?
quote:

How, how on 2025 with all available data etc to people blindly just accept a QB being “good” because a team wins?

Why do people believe they lost because he threw some arbitrary #of passes ? If they only threw 29 or 28 passes would the result be different? Is holding the Denver game against him any different than crediting him they won?
quote:

Ohio state was in a bit of a drought when they played Oregon too, only 1 title since 1970 at that point

Here is a prime example of the stupidity and laziness of the win it all or you suck mentality. Ohio St played for the NC in 2006 and 2007 and finished in the top 10 8 of 11 years between 2002-2014. Miami has not finished in the top 10 since 2005 and finished unranked 12 times.
quote:

Unfortunately for them the Ohio state buckeyes were too dominant in the trenches.

Tell us you haven’t watched Indiana play without telling us
The regular season schedule is fricked up in a lot times as well. Teams coming off byes or that played on Thursday playing on Monday, why?
quote:

How many titles has he won?

quote:

2021, lost to Mahomes

Wasn’t this the one we’re Allen got his team the lead with 13 freaking seconds left?

Seems the OP is wrong, he’s not the best QB in every category since he’s not a very good DC :casty:

At the time he came out OM was under NCAA investigation and it was thought they would go on probation. In the mid 90s this was a real threat and problem.

Arch go to Texas?

Because it was a better opportunity for him :dunno:

quote:

But you're telling me that Eli and now Arch won't come to LSU when we've been on top of the world?

Not telling you that at all. Maybe they didn’t like LSU. What am I’m telling you and you and a lot of LSU fans are just butt hurt about it because they are good at football. Not a one of you gives a flying frick we’re Cooper’s daughter will go to college.

quote:

They might live in New Orleans but they are not Louisianians. F em.

Aside from being factual incorrect no one is obligated to root for a particular college just because they were born in that state and if they were why would it be LSU and not Tulane which is closer to where they live? Or UL? USL? Nicholls? La Tech…..

I know someone that went to Newman when Cooper was there. She didn’t got to LSU, is she not a “Louisianan”?

But thanks for proving my point you’re just butt hurt they didn’t go to LSU. Be happy with all the out of state players we get like not an Ohioan Joe Burrow or not a Californian JD5.

Butt hurt LSU fans because the Mannings are OM and their sons that are good at football never went to LSU.

Lots of 3 stars turn out to be pretty good. Alfred Blue, Bennie Logan, and Chad Lavalais come to mind. Lloyd Cushenbury wasn’t even a 3 star.

This is what’s called survivorship bias. Go look at the all the 3 stars in the same classes as those guys you will see hundreds and hundreds of guys you never heard of

So in 1992 they were supposed to “know/think” that 34 years later the players might be better
