Called that a few days ago. Apparently he owned mid/south Florida while at UF

Great fit and hire

Miles hasn't been the leader for any team this year.

I am not seeing Miles at a P5 HC job this next season. Perhaps a smaller school, perhaps as an assistant coach - maybe NFL. Granted, he will have to swallow his pride going from HC to assistant, but if he wants another P5 HC job again, he is going to have to drop down and earn his way back up.

I know he won a lot of games at LSU, and there were times that the team won games in spite of him. However, some of the crap that happened during games is not easily dismissed or forgotten, and most of those other P5 schools get that. The other thing is that there is simply not going to be that many P5 openings this year. He may either have to lay out a year, go to a smaller school as HC, or perhaps go back to the NFL as an assistant if anyone will have him.

Hide and watch. There is a reason he was an assistant for 30+ years and was passed over multiple times when he was in the running.

Texas was too much too fast for him. Seems like he was never fully accepted.

it wasn't too fast for him but he was never fully accepted. it happens to most coaches after a high profile semi legend leaves. his demise was very much accelerated by the HS coaches in Texas. Strong was an outsider and he was black. two big strikes before he coached his first game. texas is a weird place; you are either a Texan or you are "black balled". true dat.

Charlie strong took over a mess at Louisville. Steve Kragthorpe was here 3 years (2007-2009) and never had a winning season. Strong in his first season took over and went to a bowl game and won it. That was without Bridgewater. The guy is a very good coach. Texas was a terrible fit for him.

He was recruiting fine.

His hires sunk him. He brought too many people from UL at first and never recovered. That is why you need elite coordinators and you don't bring the guy you came with.
