6-7 (3-5)
5-7 (1-7)
4-7 (0-7)

Dooley is lucky that Doug Dickey hired Wade Houston. Otherwise, he would be the worst coach in Tennessee history, all sports included.

while perfecting his saban imitation Dooley forgot to study one little part.....how to actually coach.

Look for him to rejoin Saban's staff and maybe sucker someone else into giving him a show again in a few years

the situation at ut was worse than awful when he took over.

Hard to believe he made it even worse.

he had to gut the team and play many very young players

More players he recruited eventually got the boot than ones that were there previously.

their d was the worst in the sec.

It's the worst defense in UT history and one of the worst in SEC history. I don't care if Sal was trying to install a new defense. You have to know your personnel and coach to it. I can understand growing pains, but this year was absurd. Plus, we played played more nickel this year than anything else.

Im going to disagree with alot of folks here. Dooley did alot of things at LA Tech that made them relevant. It doesnt show up on the W/L columns but Sonny Dykes (who has done a great job BTW) is enjoying some success that would not have been possible without Dooley. Dooley recruited well at Tech and sparked alot of vital fundraising. Not saying Dykes doesnt deserve a majority of the credit, cause he does, but Dooley was not a total failure. UT was just a tough hole to climb out of. He didnt do himself any favors but is not an awful coach. He could win at a school with smaller expectations.

I think the number speaks for itself. I still can't figure out how the frick UT lost 7 games with this roster. talent & experience is there.

2010 6-7 (3-5 SEC)
2011 5-7 (1-7 SEC)
2012 4-7 (0-7 SEC)

He needs to go somewhere where he does not have to face Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Etc.. every year.

His only chance at being successful would be if Tennessee moved to the Sun Belt. And I'm confident he would still frick it up given time. He didn't even do a good job in the WAC.
