The HC still sets the tone for the expectations of the defense. Fact. Yes,!.. let the DC do his job & hire the assistants he needs. However, the head man sets the tempo. For example, Coach Saban wouldn’t tolerate a soft / non complimentary offense.

I agree. And as stated , I respect the job he’s done at ole miss. However, IMO, lack of talent isn’t the ONLY thing ole miss has been missing. Winning doesn't happen consistently, by chance or accident. Champions come from a different mindset and with the ability to run the ball , being physical across the board and of course, a solid Defense.

You have been proven dead wrong multiple times in this very thread yet continue to ramble on with this same BS.
FFS man, give it up.

Your lack of knowing when to stop digging your hole is not the ONLY thing you are missing either!

Your attempt to portray me in a negative manner is a noted. 34 yrs of coaching , 12 in Texas HS 5A , 3 in college & 19 in Louisiana Hs 4A - 5A certainly doesn’t make me an expert, but it definitely doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m talking about. Once again, I simply asked a question. What stands out when you watch ole miss football the last few years? Referring to Jayden Daniel’s , or Joe burrow?? We won’t see the likes of that caliber of players in the SEC for awhile, let alone LSU ,. Hence , Heisman Trophy winners dont grow on trees. I’m not bashing Kiffin. , I’m just pointing out that there is a greater need for the tigers than just an explosive offense.

No shite. It's ok to admit you had a poor take and move on.

Offensive scheme. Even on plays that don't work the plays and design of the play set up the next play. They are almost always on schedule because everyone knows their job and read keys. Fun to watch. Always has been.

14-15 teams in the SEC are more physical than lsu. I haven’t seen much of Kentucky, so couldn’t say.

quote:I only referred to Daniels because I was comparing LSU’s rushing to Ole Miss’ rushing. When Daniels was at LSU he was over half of the rushing production. Knowing that you have 34 years of coaching experience and still think that Ole Miss can’t run the ball is baffling.

But they’re about to be 11-1.

That he runs an effective offense with a D2 QB.

Kiffin never won an SEC championship at Ole Miss in 4 yrs. I want to go on the record and say this is a huge mistake.

What impresses me: Kiffin has a good idea for spotting talent that others don’t, he plays to his guy’s strengths, guy is constantly taking inferior players and getting them to excel in his scheme.
This is why I'm excited about kiffin. Of course you will have great qb play and a good offense but his eye for under the radar talent seems to be great.
Whoever he has helping him scout these past few years needs to come with him. I think everyone feels like with a bump in players he will get over that hump.
Plus lsu needs that swag back. Brian kelly drained that shite out of everyone.

Running game…I’m ready for it.

I disagree, Kiffin seems to prefer a downhill, aggressive run scheme.
