Yes, happens all the time all across the country. Forearm tightness, forearm strains, triceps strains can all turn into nothing or season ending

Just a week ot two ago, Jay said he was throwing and should be available this weekend. Bummer

That's my job
Something may or may not happen that may or may not involve LSU, it may or may not be soon, and it may or may not cause quite a stir.

Give it time

Current projection under Warren Nolan has LSU at RPI #56 at the end of the season. That projection has us ending the season 31-25 (11-19) with these projected outcomes

UNO W

@ Mississippi State 1-2

vsSoutheastern Louisiana W

vs South Carolina 3-0 (sweep)

vs Tulane W

@ Georgia 0-3

vs Florida 1-2

If we want to make the playoffs without winning the SEC tournament, we need to pick up at least 2 other wins.

Yes, the window to ENTER the portal ends tomorrow night.

Top players call for higher money, that lends to end of period deals.

Sometimes.

Check in Wednesday am.

Guys who are in bidding wars will likely draw it out longer than that.

But, indeed, things often go past the closing date.

The SEC was a bit weaker

Year 6 for Skip was still about a decade and a half before football money really upped the baseball profile of the league.

The SEC then was nothing like it is now.

Yeah, that was my point. This year will end worse than 1988. In part because of a much more competitive SEC. But he did not make the tournament. Year 1 for Skip was his worst, but still likely to be as good as this season.

Since Skip took LSU to their first postseason appearance in his second year, they have missed the tournament only 4 times, once under Skip, once under Smoke, twice under Paul, not yet under Jay, but that may change this year.

In the outfield, Curiel and Brown aren’t diving to make catches. I have witnessed many plays by them where they had a chance to make a play by putting their body on the line, but instead chose the safe route and let the ball drop in front of them. That turns an out into a single, and a 3rd out into an RBI.

Diving is situational at best. Yes, it is an out vs a single, but it can also be a double or triple instead of an out. Give us 4 examples of these many plays you think you have witnessed? Game and inning so we can go back and see if we agree.

I guarantee you we don’t sweep SC

How do you plan on guaranteeing that?

We might, we might not. We play the games to find that out.
Year 6 for Skip was close. The SEC was a bit weaker, and he missed the tournament completely.

What makes you think we’re any better than SC?

Understanding? South Carolina has a losing record, fewer SEC wins (5), and most of their SEC wins (3) are against Mizzou, who are even worse than South Carolina.

Talk about false advertising.
Last Jay said he would be available to pitch this past weekend, but it would be in a different role. I took that to mean he would not start this weekend, but might come in out of the pen in the right situation.

I'm thinking we might see him in a midweek game for a few batters before we see him in SEC play.

He has said he is throwing in practice.

Does it matter?

Enough for you to comment.

What's interesting is that Evans, Schmitt, and Moore could all return next year and in all likelihood should be back.

Unless Schmidt and Evans transfer, they'll be back. Not eligible for the draft.

Moore will lose leverage if he does not go this season. So it will depend on where he is selected and if he thinks he can do better by returning.

quote:

Sheerin is probably the only one we'll lose to the draft, and that's not guaranteed, especially if we give him a chance to start.

I think he is more likely to return than Moore unless he is selected very high.

quote:

Rizzy, Guidry, and Garcia should return as experienced and talented relievers.

Rizzy is draft eligible but unless someone just likes his potential, he is not getting drafted very high and he still has leverage if he returns.

Guidry and Garcia lose leverage if they return, but I could see both returning, I don't know if they will attract a very high draft position.

quote:

Williams, Plog, and Lach should all be returning

Barring transfer, they should all be back.

Is there still a chance of making the NCAA playoffs?

Though it is unlikely, there is a chance.
quote:

How does that happen at a place like LSU? Who is in charge of scouting these players?

I have similar feelings about the admins on tRant.

Its over buddy, no reason to start a thread about the worst team we've had in 20 years

19 years, so it's probably OK then.
And I feel like a few of the PB were closer to WPs, though Im'm also sure the opposite is true, so maybe it works itself out.
