You don't have to convince me of his lack of qualifications. I was against the Shula hire right from the start. I didn't want the head coach at Alabama cutting his teeth on how to run a program. That was my point in bringing up Shula here.

Mainly because spring practice had already ended. It wasn't exactly prime time for hiring new coaches and staff, you know.

I don't think you'd ever hear the words LSU and conservative in the same sentence again

Does anyone think spurrier would be amenable to incorporating some spread option into his offense? A few zone-reads every now and then, maybe? Or is he too sold on his own genius to use someone else's idea?

But lets say option A turns us down. Would you rather a guy you're not completely in love just because he has some HC experience or an OC or DC who has had great success at a big time program or even in the NFL?

Depends on what I'm not loving about the guy with HC exp. But I wouldn't be set against the OC/DC, hell that's where Stoops, Richt and Weis came from.

This would be my dream scenario:

HC - Spurrier
DC - Muschamp

Spurrier stays for 4-5 years while grooming Muschamp for the job. Wins the SEC twice and a National Championship. Hands the reigns over to Muschamp and Muschamp continues the glory for 10+ years.....

As you said earlier, though, that was due to a horrid OL. Would he do it here? Also, would he keep Studrawa? That guy is, IMO, probably Les' best hire. Aside from keeping Moffit, but that doesn't really count.
