He's gonna take the UGA job after Richt is fired in 2011 so he can be closer to his Lake Burton paradise retreat home!

I agree completely. Saban likes programs who have potential, but have fallen on hard times for whatever reason. He will go if offered enough money. The recruiting is excellent in that area and the schedule not as difficult. He could win a national championship there as well.
Finally moving out of the SEC to PSU from Alabama would not excite the angst of BAMA fans as it did with LSU fans (and rightfully so) when he went to Alabama.

Let's look back at this board's track record with Saban and his eventual move:
Saban to Notre Dame....nope
Saban to West Virginia...nope
Saban to Dallas....nope
Saban to Michigan...nope
Now Saban to Penn State. All kidding aside this is a job I could see him taking above most others IF he is just itching to leave his current job. I actually thought Saban leaving Bama was likely a couple of years ago but the more I see from him the more comfortable and satisfied he seems in his current position. I think it will take something really bad happening at Bama for him to leave now. He's built the program up to the level he had when at LSU and I wonder if he's willing to walk away from that a 2nd time. I think he regrets walking away from what he built at LSU and that works in Alabama's favor the 2nd time around. As for his wife, if she "hates" Tuscaloosa ("contrary to what you've heard") she is doing a fantastic job in hiding it. It's always funny to me how naive rival fans think that even the higher social networks in Tuscaloosa are all redneck rubes and there is no one for the Saban's to relate to socially. It isn't some litte podunk speck on the map. It's a city/area of other 100,000 residents with a large # of highly educated people that you would find in ANY city with a major university. C.M. Newton, Kentucky's former AD, chose to retire and live in Tuscaloosa after living in Lexington, KY for many years. It was obviously good enough for him.

Are you suggesting it IS? Personally, I've never been a big fan of Tuscaloosa as a place to settle down. It's a pretty good college town that has improved drastically in the last 5 to 10 years though. There's nothing podunk about a 100,000+ city in a 200,000+ metro area. That's the only point I was trying to make. Tuscaloosa is extremely similar in size to Athens, Georgia although the demographic make up of Athens is quite different.

It wouldn't shock me, but it would be surprising. Although Nick is probably more of a builder than a manager, at his age, he probably passes. As others have said, I assume they would inquire, he would think about it and unless he's really tired of something at bama, he stays put. I would think that ego (not a bad thing) would take another shot at the NFL before taking on another college job.
