I didn't think it was that confusing.

You're really going to argue that he hasn't done a great job since taking over?

quote:

He doesnt run the offense

Which means he must have no impact on it

You're being super hypocritical given your posting history

Also, this helps with offense....

What are Jacksonville State and MSU rated defensively?

Not for nothing but there are 34 teams ranked ahead of FSU in total offense. And last year there were 50 teams ranked ahead of them including LSU with it's shite show of a passing attack. Fisher's offenses haven't ranked nearly as high as Aranda's defenses. Not even close.

Because he's never been a head coach before and we need him concentrating on running the defense. It's his first year with us he hasn't even fully installed the d plus he has t had a cycle of his recruits to put into his d. You don't hire a first time head coach at a place like LSU when you can get almost any head coach you want. Other top DCs who have recently been hired as first time head coaches include Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart both have disappointed as head coaches. It's a completely different animal running a major university than just running a defense.

Outside of Saban or Meyer, I think he's worth the risk. The dude is a complete student of the game and is completely driven to succeed.

You also dont hire a career dline coach as HC at a place like lsu. Aranda was hired to be his boss.
Aranda's resume is far better than Coach O's resume.

I dont hate Coach O at all. Just because i dont want a career dline coach as lsu's head coach doesnt mean i hate him. Please enlighten me to all the coaches tbat went from dline coach to hc at a major program. It doesnt happen. Im sorry you dont know this.

The next 3 years are given to miles like you dumbasses do for saban.

I said he has been a great motivator.

Are you suggesting he is running the offense?
Is he running the defense?
This team performing well is more of an indictment of miles than a plus for coach O.
We were supposed to be this good.

Coach O isn't going to get the job and here's why. He's made it to our final 2 but he is refusing to demote ensminger as oc or bring in a new oc he's probly taking this stance at present because we have more games left and would change his mind if it were a deal breaker for him to get the job. The problem is We will probly have to come to a verbal agreement with jimbo before coach O is given a chance to change his mind. From what I'm told Jimbo is on board with keeping Arranda and really wants the job. So I'm pretty certain Jimbo will be our next coach but it's not 100% yet.

What? Les miles brought Oklahoma state to a respectable position.
Les miles is the most successful coach in lsu.

Are you actually comparing the winningest coach in lsu history to a career dline coach?

Thats telling.
You do realize that miles was the most successful coach in lsu, right?

Im not saying we shouldve kept miles. I was ready for a change at head coach but not if we are gonna give it to a dline coach that has never successfully ran a program, offense,or defense.

He's been a head coach at 3 different spots albeit interim but at major universities and had success so yes he's mostly been a dline coach but not his whole career. And the reason he's been dline and not dc is so he could also be assistant head coach at these places which is why he and not arrand is the interim head coach. Do I think arranda is a better X's and O's football coach? Yes would I hire arranda over coach o at this point in their careers? No look at what other too dcs have done at major sec schools on their first time as head coaches Kirby Smart Will Muschamp. It's not nearly the same thing being a great tactision and being CEO of a major program are not the same les miles was a very successful head coach CEO type but is a terrible X's and O's football coach. He was also a career position coach just like O.
