The 5-7s got him. All he had to do was have winning seasons to get more time. Pretty forgiving for three years of that with top talent.

The fact that he was the OC of that Iowa state/osu game makes me kind of want to punch him...

People who really know football understand this. Our fans love LSU, but simply root for the more popular name. Herman would dominate the SEC. The SEC is ready for Jimbo. He will not beat bama. Tom will.

OP you bore me with meaningless stats. He is not coming to LSU. There is no way the state of Texas lets him leave. He either stays at Houston, goes to Texas or in a long shot somewhere else but I seriously doubt LSU.

Do you know him personally? What wrong with being the coach at LSU?

I simply made a case for why I think he should be LSU's top target.

I don't see why LSU can't land him unless Texas really is his dream job.

While Texas does have more money to bid than LSU, they move much slower, and they may not be willing to pay top dollar for Herman.

If we set the bar high, say we offer him 6.5M locked in for 5 years(hypothetically, I know nothing), Texas might decide that 6.5M+ might be better spent trying to lure a coach like Dabo/Jimbo/someone else more proven than Herman.

Also, LSU is probably an easier job to transition into as we already have top talent, a good DC, and a great recruiting class already put together.

So who knows. Prepare for the worst, Hope for the best.
(I would still be fine with Jimbo if we end up getting him...)

I've thought LSU had no shot at Herman based on noise in Houston, radio, insiders, etc. I'm starting to believe there is a shot. If he does come to LSU, then I truly believe he's going to hit it big. He's a good coach technically, he can recruit, he'd pull talent from Texas, and he's a great motivator.

Youre hearing a lot of stations pulling back on the Texas bit. I'm not sure what changed.

People knock him for the SMU loss but I think at that point there was a letdown from the Big 12, the Navy loss, and guys knowing he's leaving.

This guy is going to be a monster for a long time. Good luck reeling him in guys. I'd hate to play him every year but I'd rather see you guys good than Texas.

He just lost to Navy and got blown out by Chad Morris.

Why not go for Jimbo who could recruit even better and has proven quarterback development skills?

Care to find me a candidate with a perfect record?.......

But ok ill play that game for a moment. Fishers team lost to Louisville this year in one of the worst losses in school history. Herman team dominated that exact same Louisville team. Enough said.

Herman...we all know that Texas is Herman's dream job. I just think Herman wants no part of that shitshow in Auston right now. I know Herbstreit has been saying that Herman would be great at LSU. If I'm Herman, LSU is where I would want to be!

The only thing Herman might be thinking is that getting to the NC might be easier at Texas than at LSU. Big 12 not a tough to get through as the SEC.
