The team that is beating our arse this weekend has a Friday night guy with a worse ERA than both Evans and Schmidt.

And has walked half as many people. Which is a big reason Evans doesnt go as deep into games as he needs to. Its more than just ERA especially when LSU has so few reliable bullpen arms they can go to.
Yeah the big bats he brought in Yorke, Dardar, and Simpson haven't worked out but the lineup still has talent without those guys and can be serviceable.

But him thinking Evans and Schmidt were going to replace Anderson and Eyanson was the biggest mistake. Yeah yeah I get it was going to be unlikely to replicate their success but I never thought Evans was going to pan out as a Friday night starter. He may have the stuff for it but not the stamina. You need your Friday night guy to give you 6-7 innings and 4 or less runs consistently because thats what other teams Friday night guys will do. I did think Schmidt would take a step forward and be a serviceable Sunday starter which is what he is at this point but nothing more. Obviously Moore getting hurt has been an issue but his SEC sample size is small so we really dont know exactly what he can be in SEC play.

Last season LSU was 30-8 in games Anderson and Eyanson pitched. This season barring a comeback today LSU will be 10-10 in the first 2 games of each series.

Exactly, they only notice it when it doesn’t work! Theres a reason MLB banned it, it’s bc it works at stopping hits and offenses

It worked way more in MLB because big league pitchers have much more control and can pinpoint location to pretty much force a hitter to hit it in a certain direction. College pitchers dont have near that type of control.

Also there is a much bigger sample size on MLB hitters. We will shift for freshman hitters with a 100 at bats. Thats not a big enough sample size to know a hitters tendencies yet.

5 of the runs were gifted off walks/ errors.

Well I would rather them take the walks than swing at trash and get themselves out. If the other team is willing to walk you take it. We sure as shite have given teams plenty free passes all year so it was good to see the tables turn tonight.

Its really pathetic. Little league teams dont walk this many batters. Without the walks LSU is up in this game.

Yep. Probably won't win another game.
Watching his highlights I dont see why we couldn't just roll with him as QB1
They were never going to call that on a Hail Mary but any chance they would have went out the door once the pass was thrown basically out the back of the endzone.

Yeah multiple bad decisions. Obviously going for it on 4th down is essentially why ole miss won giving them a 10pt lead. But even despite that Georgia still could've and probably should've won. Or at the very least go to overtime.

Once Ole Miss was out of timeouts you have to run the ball on 3rd and goal at the end. I know it seems conservative but youre guaranteeing overtime at minimum and you may surprise ole miss and score the touchdown anyway. But you have to make sure you dont leave them time to beat you.

And on top of that overtime would've favored UGA big time cause the Ole Miss defense was absolutely worn out.
I mean if theres one team in college football I would compare Miami to its Georgia so I wouldnt say its a bad matchup.

I would say its actually a bad matchup for Miami cause if the Ole Miss offense goes off can they keep up?
Tulane about to get their teeth kicked in. They arent a playoff team and shouldn't be there.

Was he banking on a flag ?

No it was the perfect call with the defense they were playing to hurry up and get 5 yards and a spike.

That's a team that was 14-20 last year and 3-29 the year before that. DePaul is a terrible basketball team.

My point is LSU was only about a 5 or 6 point favorite. DePaul may not be good but they arent Alcorn or Mississippi Valley bad. So to see LSU win that game by 30+ was encouraging.
I was surprised to see them beat DePaul by 30 yesterday. DePaul isnt some great team but they arent terrible either.

But with that being said I've been fooled by the soft pre conference schedule before thinking we were better than we really were so im not believing they are any good until they win some conference games.
On LSU's end im sure they are fine with that as long as the contract is signed so that LSU can tell recruits and he cant back out and leave LSU with no coach and all the candidates have gone elsewhere.

On the Ole Miss side they can let him finish the season sure while they look for another coach. The problem on their end with that is they would then have a coach from a rival school coaching their team and in the building actively able to recruit them to LSU.

I think he really loves Ole Miss.

I dont know that its this as much as he loves his team and wants to finish the season with them. The good think is originally it seemed like he would be bashed in the media like crazy for leaving his team. But now it seems more like they are putting in on Ole Miss for not letting him. They understand LSU is a much better job and its hard to bash someone for wanting to take a better job.

He 100% knows and its that hes coming to LSU. But he also knows Lane wants to finish coaching his team so hes lobbying that he should be allowed to.

This motherfricker just needs to go the frick away man. Dude is a complete jackass.
Its not lack of execution. Its the trash scheme. Someone posted the passing chart and we only attempted 3 passes to the middle of the field and only 1 pass over 20 yards the entire game.

We throw more 25+ yard passes to pick up 4-6 yards than any team I've ever seen. Its just stupid when you can throw it 10-15 yards over the middle to pick up 10-20+ yards.

And if Nuss is limited on deep balls and thats the reason we dont attempt them then one he shouldn't be playing but two thats still no reason to not use the middle of the field. When we attempt 28 passes and 25 of them are outside the hashes it becomes pretty easy to defend and pretty easy for other teams to gameplan against us.

Oh and 1 of our 3 passes over the middle went for a touchdown. So yeah let's never go back to it.
Yeah he was elevated to keep him around to keep Underwood. While having him would've been nice these days you can't make a decision that hurts the entire program based off getting one kid.

Kids are way too wishy washy these days and are going to follow the money. Should've given the job to a competent coordinator and if it lost Underwood so be it we would find someone else in the portal for next season which is what we're going to have to do now anyway.
