The ACC plays Lacrosse and is actually one of the top conferences. In fact, Duke just won the Nat Championship and UNC is a top ten team as well. While I know that the SEC doesn't really give much of a damn about Lacrosse, it's a big deal on the East Coast and it could be a bone of contention for any ACC teams looking to move to the SEC. Does the SEC add Lacrosse to accomodate? Does the former ACC team continue to affiliate with that conference for Lacrosse? How would that be handled?

If it was added in the SEC they would have to add another women's sport as well (due to Title IX) would they not? What woud be added, Women's LAX?

Personally, I don't believe that they would add it. The interest just isn't there and, yes, there would be Title IX issues. Aren't there situations where a team can align with a different conference for a particular sport?

The ACC only has 4 lacrosse teams and those schools are unlikely to join the SEC (Duke, UNC, UVA, and Maryland)

Add varsity equestrian. It is almost exclusively female and costs relatively little - about $250,000 per year. Many SEC schools already have equestrian including LSU, but the last time I checked it was a varsity sport only at Auburn.

Women's LAX?

I know Vandy and FLorida already have women lax, not sure about other schools and I think they are part of CUSA right now for women lax. they play against each other, north western, unc, jhu, stanford, and a bunch of other random schools.

My mistake, they have Women's LAX, but not Men's. I did a quick google search and it mentioned VT in the ACC tourney, but didn't specify that it was the women's team.

Did notice that they have men's soccer as well.

Yeah, don't the few men's soccer teams in the SEC - I know USC has one - play in another conference? Maybe CUSA?

I believe UGA has equestrian as a varsity sport as well. I know they one some type of championship in it a couple of years ago.

OSU lacrosse and hockey are not big10 sanctioned...I doubt the sec would care if an acc school wanted to play lacrosse in another league...
