You think because our President spoke on behalf of the SEC on this matter that UF killed this deal???

Did you even read the quote? The SEC is expanding.

The SEC could always excommunicate them if they proved bitchy.

And if we let another team in to even it up? Then they would have to go out and find another team to replace them. Talk about a major cluster f*ck.

No I'm messing, no one SEC school could kill this. Just getting my jabs in.

I know what you're saying but it's apples and oranges. FSU is just so much a better fit. And basically in a way I agree with you but not in the way you intend it. As a gator you don't want FSU but as a bulldog I want it. FSU could hurt us though in the end, that's why I'd rather Clemson.

Truthfully I'd rather add Clemson but that's a different story.

And USC doesn't want them for the same reasons. All of these west teams calling us pussies, just can't understand because most of them already have their own in state rival in the conference. Ole Miss-Miss State, Auburn-Alabama and you can bet your arse if the roles were reversed none of them would welcome the other hated rival into their own far superior conference and share air time and money with them.

A lot of them think it's unfair that UGA, UF and USC aren't in the same situation, but ya know what? That's just the way the cookie crumbled and they can deal with it.

i think that's why there is a buyout clause/fee

So Fox Agreement - 13 years, $90 mil a year ($1,170,000,000 for the entire contract) and A&M was to receive at least $9 mil a year for 13 years...and the buyout is $30 mil for A&M for breaching a 13 year agreement (which was actually rumored to have received a larger portion of the pie) and Fox gets back only 2.3 mil per year minus what the conference takes for rescheduling and the like?

That doesn't make any sense.

Go after Clemson or Georgia Tech.

According to Tiger Authority, those teams suck! So does their markets.

It would be nice to have another bball powerhouse, plus they are UK's rival.

Those are much more important considerations than, you adding the 2nd largest state to our TV market. Lets expand by adding a team that will bring in less revenue than the current members. Good thinking bro!

Name one fact that says having a larger conference, which every one thinks is such a good idea today will actually make things better.

You can't, cause you don't know.

I do know that expanding into a very large TV market where there are no current SEC teams will not result in a smaller TV deal.

I know some of you think the results of the last few BCS CG mean the SEC will forever and always dominate CFB. But the B1G and Pac 12 have recently upgraded their TV deals. That along with adding CCG will mean more revenue for the programs. More revenue will help them improve. Typically standing pat while others in your industry are upgrading is not a good strategery
