I wonder if, on Tuesday, that will be the case. Between Beebe jawboning, Slive jawboning, Scott jawboning, Baylor jawboning, and who knows who else jawboning to advance their respective interests, it'll be interesting to see what actually shakes out. It would not surprise me at all to see the Big 12 stand pat at 10 teams, or maybe invite TCU and another (assuming Baylor doesn't have a hissy fit that TCU blocked them!) and keep everything pretty much as is.

Every post from an SEC fan I have seen is that Texas is a big bunch of p*****s (can I curse on this board without getting banned, I genuinely don't know)
I for one don't feel that way and yes this is probably the most open board I have found in terms of freedom of expression. Yes, you can curse and you will see it often. I fully understand why Texas would be a better fit in the Big 10 or the PAC 10 and it has nothing to do with competition, rather is mostly about dollars. Regardless of how it all pans out, I wish Texas and its fans well.

Typical pussy, fig, snob opinion from a Texas fan.

Good Doctor-IF Texas joins the SEC they will lose a LOT of big games to LSU and others. And vice versa.
Nobody is a "pussy".
UT is a MEGA program and we are right there with them, despite Louisiana being a far less prominent State.
I admire UT and would relish the chance to kick their arse, knowing full well that would entail "getting" our asses kicked as well...
If UT joins the Pac-10 I will laugh at them.
Because it will be such a "humbling", does not make sense for dozens of reasons, and they will pretend it is like winning the lottery.
They will in essence, be joining a conference that does not share their passion and cultural affinity for football. Either the SEC or the Big 10 would be FAR better in this regard for Texas.

I would love for TEXAS to join the SEC. It would be great for everyone. We would hopefully get 2 BCS bids then " heck we should get that NOW "!!! It would make Texas a better school. If they go to the PAC they will get worse and we will definatley take most of their recruits and then A&M would become the Team to beat from TEXAS. If they choose the Pac then it's only because they want to rule that conference and are scared of competition. They could compete in the SEC, not so much at first but in the long run. Everyone knows the SEC is the hardest Conference and you could lose any weeekend....

Everyone would like to see Texas in the SEC. But their actions just points to how big of a pussy university it truly is.

Here is why the Texas administration is considered yellow based on what we know.
1. Texas has an offer to join SEC and PAC200.
2. From a money standpoint, the SEC has more to offer currently and even if the PAC 200 can match it with their network, TX would have the ability to have their own network in the SEC just like many of the SEC teams already do. This is extra money for those teams that have the ability to do this. Thus, from a money standpoint, the SEC is a better choice hands down.
3. The SEC is a better football conference than the PAC 200 and would be easier travel as compared to the PAC 200.
Summary, economic and logical sense point to the SEC.
Why then does TX not join?
They are scared of AL, LSU, FL, GA, TN, and perhaps one or two more. They will win their share of games in the SEC, but they wouldn't be able to dominate like they would be able to in the PAC 200. It is as simple as that.
Conclusion: TX = yellow

SEC fans overwhelmingly don't want Texas in the SEC event though Texas would make it a better conference. Obviously, they are afraid to play the Longhorns.
Miss. St. played UT in a home & away series in the early 90s & won both.
According to former LSU AD Joe Dean in a radio interview on WWL in Aug. '98, LSU had signed a 2 yr series vs. UT to played in the late 90s but UT backed out after joining the Big 12.

Would you like to have Texas in the SEC?", every SEC fan, to a man, says no
It's the spurned love syndrom.
Had the poll been conducted before Bevo balked at the SEC offer and ran with tail tucked btw legs to cozy-comfy PACteen, it would've been different result.
Now votes represent "you don't want us, we don't want you, wish we'd never asked you out".
I personally thought it'd be fun to have you in SEC, but knew all along UTx was afraid to get dirty and might break a nail.

UT has the propensity for wanting to be the big dog and call all the shots.
Statements like this just don't make sense.
People say things like this because Texas makes more TV revenue than anyone else in the Big 12 but the system based on national TV appearances was unanimously approved by the Big 12. Other issues like not allowing partial qualifiers, moving the conference HQ to Texas and having the conference title game at the new Cowboys stadium were not edicts by Texas but were all 11-1 votes (Neb as the only dissenting vote every time). The conference was actually pretty unified with Nebraska being the one problem child.
Why do you say that Texas has to be the big dog and call all the shots?

I think most SEC fans would love for Texas to be in the SEC, I just don't think there's enough room for your ego

You are kidding yourself if you think Texas wants to look at a schedule EVERY YEAR that consists of Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, etc instead of what you have been use to which is a conference in which you have one game that if you lost would not be considered a major upset and that would be OU. But going on the road year in and year out to places like Bama, Florida, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas etc where every game is sold out to stadiums of 90,000 plus where losing on the road is not really that big of an upset or at least a win is not a given will be a lot more challenging with a lot less 12-0 or 11-1 regular seasons in your future. Good luck in the PAC whatever watching games at midnight.

Hypocrisy, indeed. Wasn't it you, Strangelove, that was whining yesterday about how having to play A&M drags your BCS rating down. So which is it? Are you for the Aggies going to the Pac 10 with you, or going to SEC and solving your "problem"?

There is a lot more to the issue than "unanimous approval." Some of the schools may have felt strong-armed by UT and harbor resentment. Just because they voted for it doesn't mean they like it.
It's sort of like the elections in Venezuela. You vote for Chavez or you aren't around to vote in the next election.
