Maybe Texas could convince La Tech and Ulala to keep the Big 12 afloat.
hahaha.
Seriously, I think Utah would be one of the teams.

I somewhat agree, but you wave SEC TV deals in front of their face, and they might change their mind. AND they can always play Duke OOC in basketball, enough games to do that.
They have a great athletic dept., strong in a lot of sports. It's a new state market for the SEC in a growing area of the country. Part of the research triangle. It would be a prestige and academic move, as well as a smart financial one.
After thinking about that...you could be right. It occurred to me that it really wouldn't matter which conference they were in really.
Although, we all know how conference bragging rights are! However, being in different conferences would give them even more fuel to say that one conf is better than the other.
Hmmm....strange things are afoot at the CircleK

I see Baylor going to C-USA also I think Troy may get an invite.

I think the WAC is sitting there quietly, hoping to fill the Big 12's shoes and become a 16 team conference themselves by pulling in the leftovers(rejects). Any one have a link/info to say different?

TCU would probably be a team. Pac 10 would probably go after Utah and get them, now that I think of it. The Pac 10 would then be the Pac12.
My friend has now changed his tune. he thinks the highest likelihood is a Pac16. If the Big 10 goes to 16, then the SEC will add 3 east teams and go for TAMU or Mizzou (if available).
