Headed to Glacier National Park later this year and when starting to book a car, I ran across this site.
turo car share
Has anyone ever used this site? Seems almost to good to be true.

I’ve got a Jeep booked for Bozeman next week through turo. Much cheaper than conventional rentals. Make sure to check with your insurance company. Mine would not cover me and neither would me credit card insurance. I’ll try to come back and let you know how it goes.

I rented a car one time from them many years ago. It was fine. Just keep in mind the mileage. If the mileage limitation works for you, then you'll have no problems.

Flying to Maine in September and renting through them. 1st time.

The car I'm looking at says 250-500 daily miles...

It can get a little complicated but once you've 'cleared' the insurance issue with your carrier AND the 'pick-up/drop-off' issues....it can save you a ton over the over-priced national rental chains !

I used it in December on visit to Lafayette. Super easy and less than half the cost of a traditional rental car. The owner had it waiting in the airport parking lot and I left it there when I flew out. Would definitely use it again

Used in Hawaii, people came to our hotel and we did an I section before we took off. Then on return they came back to the hotel, hither did an inspection, we shook hands and left

It’s AirBnB for cars basically. Used it last summer in Atlanta to rent a Jeep. Super convenient and cheaper than renting through everywhere I checked.

Did it for the first time this past summer on a Father's Day weekend trip with my daughters.
Went perfectly. Got a nice little Kia Sportage with a sunroof, navigation; all the bells and whistles for $135 for a three day weekend. The cheapest rental cars were over twice that much.
You can often times negotiate/arrange your pickup spot; in Denver it costs more to have it picked up/dropped off at the airport since it is so far out of town. We took an Uber to an in-town location to pick it up and drop it off.
Owner was a good guy to deal with, we gave each other top-notch reviews. You can see the owners' reviews/ratings on the Turo app; you can also see that quite a few owners have several cars and do this as a side business.
I checked with my insurance (State Farm) before renting and my agent told me they treat it the same way they treat a rental car for insurance purposes-- no need to purchase add'l insurance; I was covered by my policy. Others may be different.

I just rented a jeep off Turo for my Glacier trip in August. Never heard of it until I looked for rental cars and nothing within 100 miles was available that week. Price came out to about $125/day with a 200 mile/day allowance. Seems like a decent deal

We used it last week in San Diego for 6 days. No complaints besides the $5.29 per gallon gas in San Diego.

Nice. I'm looking at a few. There is a 2019 BMW x5 sub for $112/day

My issue with turo is a lot of them like to cancel the week before.
Also, I've looked for ski trips, and there's a bunch of owners who live in mountain towns, list it during the winter, but are uncomfortable with you driving it to a ski resort. It seems like they're hoping someone is flying into Gunnison, but isn't leaving town and just wants it to drive to Walmart

Just dropped my turo off at the Bozeman airport. My experience with it was a breeze.
2018 4 door wrangler, unlimited miles, 6 days, $509 with the added insurance (my insurance would not cover it). I did have to pay a $25 fee to have it delivered to the airport, but that was included in the $509. The Jeep was waiting on me in the parking lot right outside of baggage claim, doors unlocked, keys in cup holder. The owner dropped it off minutes before my time started, so I didn’t have to pay any parking fees. It snowed several days while on the trip and the 4wd was great to have. For drop off I parked in short term parking, took pictures from all angles to show no damage, and notified the owner where it was parked. All in all my turo experience was easier and cheaper than the standard rental car experiences I’ve had.

Used them last year, our experience couldn't have been better. Ubered to pick up location from Boston Airport, picked up a new loaded 4 door Jeep. Toured all over Maine in it for a week +, returned it and worked out as planned. Some recommendations, check out the reviews of the renter, if they aren't rated 4 stars or above keep looking, there are are plenty that are 5 star. Most of the lower rated ones are from canceling the rental within a week of the rental, it doesn't appear Turo removes reviews so check them out closely. Check mileage limits, some offer a small fee for unlimited, if in doubt get it and be worry free. When picking up the vehicle you will use the app to take pictures of any existing damage, document everything so you don't get blamed for something you didn't do. Lastly check with your insurance, my agent wasn't real sure so I just bought Turos to be covered. By the time we did all of the above the rental wasn't that much less than we would have paid at a traditional rental company, but we had a much nicer vehicle and the piece of mind knowing it would be there. Been burned by "reservations" before with rental companies.

We rented a Maserati for a weekend from turo and it was easy, cheap and fun. This was way before COVID.

I’ve used it three or four times. I liked it a lot. No issues with my experience and it can be way more convenient if there are crazy lines at the traditional car rental places.

The jeep I rented for our Glacier trip in September was just canceled. No reason was given.
