Lol as a TN resident since 1996 I have been to a CVS like 3x. Ugly, run down and depressing has been my experience.

Id rather hit a Dollar General and that's a pretty low bar to hit.

So I guess I'm saying "see ya".

how can you even find it :yack:

engineer" covers everyone from software engineers to field commissioning engineers. Obviously one is more readily replaceable than the other.

I built some web content over the years but too lazy/busy to bake in the ever changing world of Section 508/ADA/WCAG compliance because it's such a pain in the arse and we always lack the time and budget to do it.

On a whim I asked it to look over the site and add a very specific level of compliance to it: WCAG 2.1 level AA. :speechless:

Yeah it was that easy. This is the kind of "plumbing" that tech people need to look out for. There are certain things that it can just make happen in seconds you'd craft a project plan for and hire a an entire team to do.
It's precious. Love my family but I think even they would agree it's good to have our space.

I've always been comfortable doing things by myself. I remember being fresh out of college living in Houston and had the best time eating by myself after work even going to the movies.

I don't travel much for my job we l but when I do and others are also on the trip I go out of my way to chill by myself. "We're all at the Starbucks next to Gate 11 where are you?". :yack:

Nope and nope. I see my co-workers enough I'm not eating airport food with them.

When I was in Copenhagen everyone wanted to go eat together each evening and was like "nope". Checked out a hotel bicycle and rode all over the city by myself checking things out.

Probably good I have a family or id be living in a cabin in the woods somewhere with a 2 foot beard

h, I see what you were saying. He made the D Party move up their rollout of their batshit crazy agenda, instead of slowly raising the temperature of the water in the pot.
exactly. virginia is a perfect example of bait-and-switch; this was all planned; trump just made them say 'the quiet part' out loud.

that green steak curdled your brain. If Cackles was in office we would have at minimum another 2 million illegals in the country.

Get a grip Cad.
i think y'all completely missed my point...

context is lost on everyone i guess; i thought it would be obvious.

the dems can't risk another trump so they're laying all their cards on the table..look at Biden's 'presidency' and now Virginia.

they were committed to destroying the country all along; trump just forced this to the forefront.

wife picked this up for me a few months back.

great coffee table book and the stories of the people, their favorite watch, and how/why its special is fun to read. the stories are maybe 4-5 paragraphs or shorter so definitely 'coffee table' material.

Gotcha. Ya with tuya just make sure you grab your keys within the 7-30 day window you have access to them after starting your dev account or else you’re going to need another burner email and maybe a different phone.
just noticed HA found some tuya as well. i got a long way to go here dont i?

Why get rid of a zillion z-wave devices?
see above. zwave+ just started coming out at the time but most of my devices were standard zwave so i didnt get the benefit of that.

to answer your question; most zigbee & zwave were installed in lightswitches, door & window sensors, motion detectors, etc. and it didn't really make sense to rip all that out when i was planning to start over w/ zwave+.
quote:

Also shame you purged your zwave devices. Zigbee/Zwave is incredible with HA

i know. i left the new owner my hubitat as well. i had 2 garage doors using 2 zwave+ controllers and my spreadsheet was close to 500 devices that i gave him as well as turned over my hubitat account. a shitton of zwave, zigbee, wifi, but almost all was 'isntalled' like door sensors, lightswitches, etc. so didn't really want to rip it all out and it seemed like a nice gift for him. also had a couple of extra hue hubs thanks to that hue clearance insanity at home depot back then  i justified leaving it behind because most devices were zwave so that crippled my zwave+ devices and thought i'd start over.

he was moving in while we were moving out so i sat at the island with him and helped convert all my accounts to him  great real estate transaction.

i also had major burnout at the time and didn't expect to get this far back in but here i am..5 years later...

eta off to research tuya...i know i've seen that before on some of the apps i have on my phone.
no lies detected

i have a TON of vietnamese friends and every one of them loves trump.

my wife's bestie is married to a scary-looking puerto rican dude and all we do all day long is trade trump memes and go outside on the patio and smoke cigars and bash dems when he comes over

if he only knew the PT was my endless supply of MEMEs..he thinks i'm just really good at finding them.

With HA, when in doubt, the answer is yes
no shite!

i feel like a complete luddite ignoring HA until now.
Update:

spun up a virtualbox, installed HA on it and working on some of the 'cards' now.

hardware will be a mini-pc and probably a 43" tv but i am probably going to waive off on it being a touchscreen over some type of wireless mouse/remote/keyboard device that i can keep under the bar. just too much money for a touchscreen that size when this is a MLH that may or may not last for the longterm.

HA has sucked in alot of my crap without me doing anything; its found:
- hue hub
- sonosnet
- x-sense hub
- reolink system
- rachio

looks like chatgpt is going to try & help me harden the 'local control' that i lost during the last WAN outages; just because something says its working locally doesn't mean its going to work when your internet goes down unless you tweak a few settings first.

i'll have to add:
- wifi dehumidifier
- roborock vacuum
- honeywell thermostat
- meross garage door opener
- wifi smart plugs (chinese apps and some native amazon-based)
- eufy door locks
- bosch dishwasher
- delonghi coffee machine
- yet-to-be-purchased tempest weather hardware
- a couple of tvs

its honestly stupid how many smart devices i have ONCE AGAIN after purging all my hubitat and three zillion zwave devices a couple of houses ago.

i guess its time i consolidated everything and since Wink, Smartthings, Vera and Hubitat are no longer viable options, i'll finally give HA a shot at doing it.

my wife will be out of town for a few days mid-month so good opportunity since i'm taking those days off work to dig in.

now i'm just left with a display..should i just go with a cheap $150 43" LG/Samsung/TCL/random-chinese brand?

would love to go with a 43" OLED but those are like $800 and there is no guarantee this is going to have sticking power so don't really want to spend that much on another TV.
