I know that he won a championship by a series of late season losses last year, but this guy has been getting by on the talent of our players alone. I am not talking about the defense he is only in charge of personnel matters, not the inability of his coordinators to defend the spread and any other type of passing offense. Miles and Crowton do not dictate the game, they do not allow our talented offensive players display all of their talents. Leach is only an example of exciting football to watch, our games are boring when we have the ball, we have at least three Michael Crabtrees on our team and you would never know by watching us every Saturday.

I doubt you have three WR's that talented, but Leach isn't quite the guy you would want. That type of offense wouldn't really work in the SEC.

We would probably give up 51 points every week.

I don't think in the history of my LSU fan fanhood I've said to myself "Man I'm bored" and walked off.

bdavis1976, you make it sound like you have no hope in Miles and that he is just winning because he had Saban's recruits.

Don't worry, Miles is doing just as good in recruiting as Saban did.

Per rivals...

Average star ratings:

Miles
2009 - 3.83 (#2 in nation -- so far)
2008 - 3.58 (#9 in nation)
2007 - 3.88 (#2 in nation)
2006 - 3.64 (#4 in nation)
2005 - 3.69 (#4 in nation)

Saban
2004 - 3.54 (#6 in nation)
2003 - 3.68 (#3 in nation)

Alabama
2009 - 3.56 (#9 in nation -- so far)
2008 - 3.72 (#6 in nation)
2007 - 3.28 (#15 in nation)
2006 - 3.61 (#8 in nation)
2005 - 3.03 (#23 in nation)
2004 - 2.89 (#18 in nation)
2003 - 3.06 (#22 in nation)
2002 - 3.20 (#20 in nation)

It's not the recruiting you're missing with Miles IMHO, it's the coaching.

Well if it isn't recruiting I'm assuming you're saying we are about the same. Les and Urban debuted in the SEC the same year, I'd like to think the level of success between them is pretty even...not to mention the series is 2-2.

What makes your coach so superior? He definitely isn't above hiccup games, that's for sure. Not to mention that since Tebow has taken over full time they are winless when they trail at any point in the 2nd half.

I never claimed Meyer was better than Miles. Meyer is still a rather new head coach and has a lot to learn. He is far from the best coach in the SEC, let alone the Country if you ask me. One of the things that he needs to fix is just that, half time adjustments.

Although every coach can improve.

He's just flaming...in no way can he say CUM is better when they lost 4 games last year...including to Michigan in a Bowl Game...and a loss to Ole Miss this year at home.

I'm just saying that I think Saban is a better coach than Miles. That's all.

Oh. I just didn't understand since Miles really can't do much better than he has done the past 3 years with the exception of a few hiccup games (the worst being the self destruction at the Swamp in 06 that cost us a shot in Florida's place). But, last year eased the swelling of that.

This is a relatively down year regardless of what anyone says, anyway.

This is LSU's first loss.

The season is far from over.

Keep your heads up.

Every Gator fan out there thought the season was all but over after the Ole Miss game. I had my worries.

But we're looking pretty good right now.

Hopefully we face off again in the SECCG.

I'd be interesting to wonder if Saban would have done as good from 2005-2007 as Miles did, had Saban stayed at LSU. If so, that would have shown Saban was as good as a coach as Miles. But doing what Miles did from 2005 to 2007 is pretty insane. Now if Saban can do at Alabama what Miles did at LSU, then I'll believe Saban is just as good as Miles.

You'd have to be a fool to believe Florida's season was all but over after the Ole Miss game. Get real.

So we gave up 51 points and your solution is to hire Mike freaking Leach?

Have you EVER watched Texas Tech's defense the last few years?

You're not really that clueless, I'm POSITIVE you're just fricking with the Rant here.

Not a big game coach- in a big game, his offense has to score 50 points to have a chance, as their defense is AWFUL in those games, and awful most of the time.
