So if Johnny Goodman doesn't beat Bobby Jones in the U.S. Amateur, Jones wouldn't have had time to play Cypress Point and have second thoughts about hiring Donald Ross.
Instead he is enthralled by Cypress Point and hires Alister MacKenzie and the rest is history.
Would Ross have designed a better course than his masterpiece Pinehurst #2 for Jones ?

Saw that. Interesting twist. It’s arguably the best course as-is but who knows. The piece said Jones had as much say as AM and maybe that was a factor w Ross as well.

Not many people know that these is a Donald Ross designed course in Orange Tx.
