Which cities to visit in greece?

Right now on my list is athens/santorini/mykonos. 12 nights. Any other cities we should visit? And how many nights do you recommend in each city?

We’re doing santorini and Naxos. There’s a pretty informative greece thread prob no further back than the 2nd page.

I would replace Mykonos with Naxos or Paros. I did a recent Greece review that you can search for.
1 or 2 days in Athens and 3-5 in the others, depending on what you like.

Which order would you recommend -- athens, Crete, naxos, santorini? Now we are thinking 3 nights athens, 2 santorini, 3 Crete, and 3 naxos

I would do one of the less crazy islands. Naxos, Paros, Milos, etc.

3 nights in Athens is too many. Take one of those nights and spend it elsewhere.

You will want to do your order based on short, direct ferries. I think that would be Athens, ferry to Naxos, ferry to Santorini, ferry to Crete and then fly out of Crete.
Only do Crete if you have 5 days to spend there. We loved it, but everything we wanted to see was very spread out so it meant we drove a good bit taking day trips and wanted to have one or two relaxing days in between. The beaches in the main cities were not nearly as nice as the remote beaches.

We flew into Athens and then immediately flew to Naxos for a few days to relax and get over jet lag. Then Santorini, then Crete, then Athens for a day or two before we flew back home. In hindsight, flying straight home from Crete sounds like a better plan.
