Not sure - but there was a lady in Lakeview living with her son’s 600lb decomposing body for 9 months. LINK
You don’t have to get it done at the mall. Pediatricians do it most of the time now.

I don’t have a lean either way, but the argument I have heard for doing it young is less scaring, less risk of infection, no fear of needles yet, no memory of the piercing and hardly any pain since their ears are like jello. 95% of girls will get them pierced eventually.

Road Trip

Posted by jsquardjj on 4/16/26 at 7:01 pm
I am gently* considering road tripping to Montana for our summer vacation. We have been to Wyoming/Montana a bunch, but always fly. Family of 5 with 3 kids, but all very well traveled. Is this just a terrible idea?

It is the same price to rent a large SUV here and return there, as it is to rent one there for the duration. We would fly home, but gas there would be cheaper than the 5 flights there.

Looking for recommendation for 3 stops along the way that involve really nice resorts or unique stops that would make this type of trip worth while. Off of the top of my head, I was thinking Dallas, Santa Fe and Steamboat Springs, but I’m open to all suggestions or routes.

I know that the nostalgia thing is a big factor and some of the all time greats came from RW/RR, but road rules ended almost 20 years ago and it’s been a bit since real world ended too.

If they would not have started including new realty shows, this would be some kind of geriatric challenge show.
I wouldn't be so sure. The MS store is only an hour from the Loxley store, and it has become one of the busiest stores in the country after having a full year under their belts. The 10 is a beast.

Kentucky is working on their third store and then there will be 3 all pretty close to one another in smaller towns.
It felt like two completely different shows to me.

I much preferred the feel and suspense of the first 2-3 episodes.

Did I miss something, or did the dogs have anything to do with the plot at all?
That would make sense. Not much on the big stretch of I12.

I also think one coming from Baton Rouge into New Orleans would do ok. Either right before or right after that dead zone where there are no stations.
That is just flat out incorrect.

Even if you only look up stats on Caucasians, there are 3X as many families without fathers vs families without mothers.

Wow. I’m insanely impressed with the cast so far. Excited to see Nelson back and Nurys should provide some good drama.
Option 2

I grew up in great areas. I was one of 5 kids, and we were always house poor. We never had name brand things, went camping as our only vacation, and parents drove basic, but reliable cars. Definitely the poorest family on the block, but our house did not show it. My parents made sure the grass, garden and curb appeal were top notch even if the inside was not.

Because of our homes' locations, we all went to the best school district possible, hung around people that had money, and adults with higher education than our parents. All 5 of us have a strong mix of education and work ethic.

It was exactly what my dad said he wanted for us, and why he chose to be the poorest in the most affluent area.

It depends on what you want out of it. 5 days was the perfect amount for me, and I could have stayed longer. Naxos and Paros are definitely relaxation islands, meaning there is not a ton to do, but what an amazing place to sit on a gorgeous beach, eat food, talk to wonderful locals and just hang out. Those two are pretty similar.

You could spend a day chartering a boat around the island to some beaches only accessible via boat.

One of the 5 days taking a ferry and doing a daytrip to Santorini or another nearby island.

Then just relax and explore Paros the rest of the time.

Help with a Virgin Island Trip

Have some Marriott points to burn and found great flights to St Thomas for our March dates. From what I have read, staying on St John is best, but I am struggling to find anything reasonably priced over there, so we were just going to use points to stay at the Westin.

I had hoped to spend one day exploring St John in a jeep or car, but having a hard time finding one day rentals. Any advice? If not, we could take the ferry over and then grab a taxi. We would like a spot with a great hike that ends at a nearby beach before heading back to Cruz bay for dinner and the ferry. All recommendations appreciated for a St John day.

We also wanted to do a tour to BVI on the water one day. Any suggestions on which spot to hit? I saw some that do the Baths, others that do Josh Van Dyke and bar hop.

All suggestions appreciated.

I agree with Capital Tiger - take them while they are young and keep going.

We have been doing national parks and international trips since our kids were tots, and they are extremely easy and fun to travel with because of introducing them young. If you wait until your kids are teenagers to do this kind of travel, you have a lot of catching up to do in a short amount of time. The world is a huge and amazing place - experience it together for as long as you can. Even if they won't remember it, you will cherish the memories.

Bozeman is a little too far away to enjoy the park. A "Cruise America" RV would be a good idea. Your kids will probably enjoy having a house on wheels, and that way you can hit a few spots around the park. Book your campgrounds early if you do this. Get the compact one so it is easy to drive and park at trailheads. Wake up early and beat the crowds to the big sites.

We have camped in the park before and recommend Madison and Canyon in Yellowstone as well as Colter Bay in the Tetons.

Enjoy! Beautiful part of the world.
The Smooth Criminal routine that they won with two years ago is also awesome.

They have been an incredibly high regarded team for LSU athletics for quite awhile now.
Favorites:
1) Kyoto - Fantastic culture, food, nature
2) Budapest - Beautiful architecture, great nightlife
3) Florence - Everything.

Let Downs:
1) Vancouver - While the West End and Park were absolutely gorgeous, the city felt dead and overrun with drugs/homeless while we were there.
2) Milan - Just not for me. Prefer so many other European cities

Yes, enjoy!

If you book a separate positioning flight to New York, I am seeing it between $750-$950 for June and July dates.

Goal is 40

1) The Book Thief
2) Secret of Secrets
Has anyone gone down the rabbit hole of researching and fact checking a lot of the scientific stuff in the book?

It was pretty fascinating to think about that type of research taking place and how close we could be to discovering some of the unexplainable cognitive states, but I know there is a fine line where the fact/fiction meet in his books.
My parents shove 12 grapes in their mouth, fill a suitcase with money, step over the threshold and walk to the sidewalk and back pulling the suitcase.

Cracks all of us up ….. but they sure do travel a lot each year.
Did you also use Cathay miles? I booked Ana through Virgin many years ago, but it seems impossible to find two seats there anymore. I need a new strategy.
