Going to a few games at Comerica Park this weekend with family.

Any recommendations for restaurants or things to do in the area.

We just bought bullet proof vests, so getting shot is not a concern. TIA.

Exactly. We’re headed to the airport right now.

We’re staying in the Novi area and plan to visit Ann Arbor one day.

Just looking for advice on things to do, places to eat especially near the stadium. Thanks again.

Last time I was in Detroit was for my brother’s wedding in 2002. We went across the border to Windsor the night before. I don’t recommend that as a family activity.

This was the timeframe I was getting into it up there, good times back then.

I think this is the best museum in the US. Definitely take the family. Check out the website. It has tons of American history.

Don't listen to anyone fear mongering. Detroit is great for a few days. I like midtown. If you google maps Founders Brewing and Third Man Records you'll get a decent idea of the area. I like Founders and Detroit Shipping Company. If I remember right you can take the street car from downtown.

Belt Alley is fun but I've never been on a game day and imagine it's wild.

Eastern Market on the weekend is a great way to spend some time.

DIA is worth it just for the Rivera mural.

One of the coolest cities in the world is Frankenmuth nearby.

Zender's chicken is world class
Frankenmuth Brewery
Bronner's Christmas Wonderland

Seriously, it's worth it

??? Downtown is fine, not sure why you're worried about it. It's not like the Quarter where real guns are coming out frequently.

Food - Joe Muers, London Chop, Vicentes, Grand Trunk Pub, Lafayette Coney

Brewery - Atwater, Batch Brewing

Have fun, I love Detroit. Go Tigers.
