Brave Browser - anyone else using it having problems today

It closes instantly when I try opening a new tab.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It is still doing it.

What's the concept behind the browser? Better privacy?

yeah, definitely.
It blocks tracking cookies and popups as a default. Since using it, when I run my anti-virus, it actually doesn't find the thousands of tracking cookies.
There are a lot of other neat features and security, plus it is just faster. It auto blocks a lot of senseless ads, too.

I use it b/c it was started by the guy who was fired from Firefox for opposing homosexual "marriage"

Not sure what you are on. I was on 10 for a short period and just went 3ith the 11 update. Not much different, but don't know what all you use. The best feature on 11 I found is when you hover over the page expand box it gives you a bunch of different options if you want to have different windows on your monitor. Easier than trying to arrange yourself. Ie. You can split up by 4 boxes or 3 side by side, etc. Ie....it will be the jam kind of feature if/when I get a big arse curved monitor. Other than that I really don't use much that I'm not finding on say WIN7. For basic office work use kind of thing. I hate that the windows programs are subs now cause it won't let you set the auto-save unless you have it sent up to the cloud. Which I hate having to do.

I haven't seen anything on my laptop version. Android and iPhone version not seeing any issue either.
For the record the android version is better than the apple version. The ability to create sections to compartmentalize tabs in isn't in the apple version like andriod. Which sux so don't use it as much on my iPhone.
