re: I'm sorry, I just have to...

Thanks for the laugh. Hadn't heard that in years and years.
I think we need one for Golding. Maybe a Foster Brooks type drunk press conference.
YT Foster Brooks
I agree with you Pilot. It seems really solid OL right now with some depth. Experience at center and tackle is a big plus.
Last chance to enter the portal is end of the day. Not sure what the "drop" means.
Sounds like there might be somebody in the works that hasn't jumped in yet.
Some body needs to put Kiffin in a hoody smoking a cigar JB9 style.
Is this remotely possible? Is there enough money to get him too?

Well he already took coaches and loaned them back. The portal opened before the CFP and I think he has respect for OM and the players to not do that. Now if the players jump in after the CFP then it is fair game but you don't want to be seen causing even more chaos in the team leading up to the CFP by trying to poach players and being even more of a distraction.

Its just common courtesy and respect for the organization.
This comparison is annoying. It is only because both went undefeated. Offensively, I haven't seen total numbers but I suspect LSU had much better offense. But the competition LSU played that year was over and beyond what Indiana has faced.

I'll still probably pull for Indiana because of their history. Cignetti is pretty incredible to do what he did. I like the the Mendoza kid also.
I just don't like Miami in general. I like what Cristobal has done and his focus on the trenches, but I just don't like Miami. I hope they lose at home.
Are we sure that isn't Raising Cane?
Is there about to be some money thrown at some OT's?
I have to think Leavitt will have to be doing a lot or VR room work since he can't take actual snaps. Will he be able to take snaps in the spring from shotgun and just work on the passing timing and working with WR's?

I want them all to do what JD did in the VR room and really get their reads and decision making happening lightning fast.

I would like to think it is an open competition but it is Leavitts to lose. The pressure is on him.
Arms look a little small for a OT. Although at 6'7" the reach might be more important
Abilities and talent is only 60%. It is the mental capability and speed to make pre/post snap reads and decision making speed as you go thru progressions.

i do love this attitude though. It not only pushes himself but i pushrs the other QBs as well.

I saw somebody in that forum posted that Lane tried to get Reed to go to the portal.
Has anybody heard this before? Is this true?
They then used that to show how coveted Reed is. He isn't a good passer.
Durham is staying, thankfully. Just need some OL to make holes he can blow thru.
We def need some more quality OL guys.
Thanks for this. Great info.
I'm seeing that we might still want:
-LT and G
-LB
-DB with experience.

How confident are we in the OL and DL. Teams will be running more I believe and the DL will need to be good at stopping the run.
Who did Miami get then or Tenn?
I can't believe he didn't pick one of those.

I believe so. That has been the issue with opening the portal after the CFP's or after the bowls because they have to be enrolled and heading to class before the CFP's are done.
The schedule of this portal stuff is messed up. Then you have jackwagons like the RB at Oregon that opted out for the portal before the playoff game.
Man, this is looking good. Injuries have killed the season already.
Probably would've won the aTm and USC game with him. Heck they may have given Vandy a run with him. Throw in Reed and we would be in good shape this season.
This kids got 3 yrs left....this would be good pickup. Wolford knows this kid and his ability. I'd rather get some guys like Brooks and fill the cupboard, Instead of spend crazy money on the very top. These kids are getting NFL money for OL.
Just my uninformed opinion.
Tenn or Miami is what I'm seeing. Miami is trying to pull Ty Simpson from the draft as well.

We have essentially been bargain shopping on portal OL up to this point. I don't know why we would drop $2.5-3m now.

Maybe you answered your own question.
