I’m being proposed a trade of RB-Michael Carter and RB-Alexander Mattison for WR-Alec Pierce. I own Dalvin and Breece as well as AJ Dillon, Jerrick McKinnon, and Chase Edmonds. .5PPR scoring. I’m on the fence about giving up Pierce but like that both Carter and Mattison are young/handcuffs, but also they could end up starting elsewhere potentially. Thoughts?

I would not. For Dynasty, you are trading a player that could be a league winner in the years to come for two that going forward will probably be handcuffs. As you said, they are young, but would probably max out as RB2s. Pierce could be a WR1 over the next couple of years (probably some recency bias on my part, but Pierce has looked really good the past couple of weeks).

I would probably take it if the benches are deep enough to hold that many RBs.

Mattison is in the final year of his contract. Good chance he is the starter somewhere else next season. Dude has the potential to be a star. Lots of teams were interested in trading for him this year.

Generally, trading rookie WRs drafted in the top 3 rounds for backup running backs is not a move I’d be looking to do in dynasty. Trade for running backs for current season production imo
