The new staff that didn't recruit him just took like 9 different WR portal commits.

Obviously I want him at LSU, and I do think Kiffin is going after him, it just seems like the media is going to connect us to almost any QB at this point

All the LSU insiders basically said we have been trying to pull this off for a while. It's more than just baseless speculation

I don't know what I'm doing, but I searched FlightAware and couldn't find any flight arrivals to BR from SEA. Nothing scheduled either.

According to a Washington fan/analyst on Twitter, he has not been in Seattle over the past week or so. Makes some sense because I doubt classes (lol) have started already

re: Demond Williams comp

Alright this has gone too far. Demond Williams is very talented and I would be happy if he’s LSU’s QB in 2026 but he is not as good a passer as Chambliss.

Chambliss lit up EVERY SEC team he played. Even the game ole Miss lost he put up 300 yards and his team scored 35 points. Williams put up 6 points against OSU, 7 against Michigan, and 14 against Oregon. Didn’t break 14 points in any of them.

He still has to develop as a passer but I definitely like him as a prospect. He just ain’t as good as Trinidad rn.
Miami or Oregon both will need QBs and can play the big boy money game.

I think there’s almost no chance of this happening.

Which is why this random Arizona writer leaking this story when it did leads me to believe it's someone trying to screw over Kiffin and LSU.

Nah he probably just heard the scuttlebutt and now that it’s out in the open he decided to let it rip

I think there’s an excellent chance that info was correct at one time. But he may not come here given we are looking at Leavitt and other QB needy schools with deep pockets will probably approach that number as well.
quote:

Wait you think Leavitt is better than Demond Williams? Lol.

They’re really similar players. Same with Sorsby. All are good runners. All are good but not great passers with the tools to improve that part of their game with good coaching.

Realistically any of the 3 would be good gets for LSU given our offensive coaching and system should allow any of them to use their strengths to the fullest.

That o-line looks pretty awesome. All day to throw.

2 top 50 NFL tackles usually makes for nice pockets.

Dampier would be a great addition but it's always tougher to get guys when they haven't even entered the portal. I'm sure we would try, though.

I mean didn’t that QB just back out of an agreement with Nebraska? Same thing right?

He had committed, not signed.
quote:

Go get Holstein who is mobile and is at least serviceable and put a good team around him.

No thank you. Go get the best player you can at the most important position on the field. People who think bargain hunting for our 2026 QB starter is the answer blow my mind.
Justin Lamson was awful at Stanford.
I think only 4 guys on this list make sense for us as the 2026 starter:

Tier 1 - Leavitt

Injury isn't ideal, but best combination of production and talent.

Tier 2 - Lagway/Raiola/Deuce Knight

Incredibly talented former 5 stars. Raiola has been a better player than Lagway and Knight but he's the worst fit in Kiffin's system due to lack of moblity.

The rest are not serious options for a team trying to make the playoff, imo.
quote:

Cedric Benson injured his Lisfranc in 2012. He never played another snap after that.

Ronnie Brown injured his Lisfranc in 2009. He declined in 2010 by rushing 200/734/5 and receiving 33/242/0. He was relegated to backup duties in 2011 and never regained the job.

After a breakout year, Darren McFadden injured his Lisfranc in 2011. His next season he declined sharply rushing for 215/707/2 and receiving for 42/258/1.

IMO this is much different than a QB who is 21 years old. These were all NFL running backs with 4+ NFL seasons under their belt.

quote:

After being drafted 9th overall in 2007, Ted Ginn Jr. injured his Lisfranc prior to his rookie season. He never reached his potential and put up less than 40 catches and 500 yards in 5 of his first 6 seasons while battling injuries.

Dropping passes has nothing to do with a Lisfranc

I don't feel great about Leavitt having the injury, but he's clearly the best option at this point even with the injury. Gotta for it and hope he recovers well.

Chambliss is about to be put into a blender vs Miami

Sure man.

376 yards and 39 points vs UGA round 2

368 yards and 34 points vs OU

305 yards and 35 points vs UGA round 1
Chambliss is the best QB in the country, and has been all year. So no, Sorsby and Leavitt aren’t better than him.

He fricking sucks. Keep him far from this team. Not sure why everyone is dying over lacy? “Oh he scored 19 tds in a high powered offense he must be a stud!!” Yeah he’s a product of his environment and overrated

Impressive stupidity

My point is we would be bringing him in with another, hopefully better QB. We need 2 maybe 3 guys from the portal for next season. I’d be disappointed if he were the only or even the best guy we targeted. But did put up 330 yards of offense in A CFP, and he has YEARS of experience. So I’m not sure we are going to get much better than that as our seconds QB option.

This guy just started for a very good G5 team. He was the QB for a 10-2 BYU team. Why would he come to LSU for his last year to likely sit on the bench? It just doesn't make sense, man.

Is he any good who does he remind you of

Taylen Green from Arky. Great runner, long strides. Good arm but not exactly a crisp passer. He'd do well in a spread offense like what Lane runs

never started 3 from one team before

Since Brisket took over the Cards are averaging 358 yards per game, 30 over the league average of 328 a game. That's despite play 4 of the best defenses in the league - Seattle, Rams, Texans, and Packers.

There should be plenty to go around against an Atlanta defense that is not playing well.
quote:

Was he injured in 2022 and if so is there proof of injury?

Idk if anyone knows that for sure except Trinidad and his team, but given the fact he’s filing an appeal for a medical redshirt…I’m guessing he had some sort of injury during that season.
