Why does the stock market seem fake?

What is happening right now that caused the market to jump 3000 points in a week? This all after the news of OPEC cutting back supply and news that the Fed is going to raise rates again? Is this just alot of pumping and dumping games by investors? Nothing happening with the market seems to be based on reality, and more based on manipulation games.

The algorithm drives it.

Back when covid hit, people were saying the same thing because airline stocks were going up. All the planes were downed and out of service. Same thing with cruise ships.

Economics is fake in our Federal Reserve system.

Manipulation is the name of the game.
But I think a big dump is coming soon

My personal accounts certainly disagree with it these days.

It's only up 1000 over the week.
And even with that bump, it's still down over 4000 over 6 months.

The Fed is also in the business of inflating stock prices

You're going to see fluctuations up and down over the coming weeks. More interest rate hikes are, frankly, baked into the current numbers so the next hike (assuming another 50 or 75) likely won't budget whatever trend line it is on (at least not for more than a day or two).
But, the next catalysts will be the next inflation report and the November consumer spending early reports. If folks are doing belt-tightening around the traditional Christmas shopping season, that will crush retail and, probably, banking stocks (credit cards).
Obviously, the volatility in the energy sector has the potential for big swings in the market, as well.

Is this just rich people welfare? The Fed manipulates the market to keep higher income people fat and happy while the middle class gets crushed by inflation and stagnant wages?

The stock market has a bunch of folks gambling against each other, trying to buy low and sell high. After the recent downturn, investors have been sitting on cash waiting to invest somewhere. These recent buys that pushed prices higher are just investors thinking they are getting a deal now, and that the market will rebound later, possibly months or years later.

Algorithms are literally driving much of the markets
indices futures stocks
hedge funds
banks and
big and small traders have written algoithms to auto trade
I dont use one yet but am tryimg to understand what their activity looks like
Importantly, there have been many serious papers written about this phenomenon - all of them come up with detailed studies of their effect on the total market and it is provable that markets are improved in all measures. I have read them and get that same conclusion.
After all, someone is assuming the risk behind these programs

Your first mistake is trying to make sense of something that not sensible in the short term

they are propping it up until the mid-terms.

The stock market is in desperation mode to sustain itself until the midterms. All the levers of power are being exploited to prop the market up as much as possible until after the election. After that, it will crash and the Dems will have some grand plan that is supposed to fix things, but in reality, will make everything worse, and get them and their cronies rich.
Does no one remember the 08 crash and how it made electing another R impossible, giving us bathhouse Barry? Then the tax payers bail it the banks who caused it, no one was punished, and system limped on another decade and half to today. Expect another too big to fail campaign or the like. ESG scores will reward the corrupt corporations who play ball and the rest to bankruptcy. Our esteemed government picks the winners and losers again.
