He remains probably the best guitar player that virtually no one has heard of. There was a movement to popularize his work right after he died and then during the early days of the internet.
He is one of the few that could have held his own against the Kings, SRV, etc.

amazing guitarist supposedly had an offer from the Stones. Some controversy over whether he actually hung himself in that jail cell.
