Guitar top question. damage/wear/protection.

I have a 1973 Martin D35 I have mentioned before. It is new to me. I have had the bridge reseated. it has some wear from pick scratches near the soundhole and strings. These are down to bare wood.
Any suggestions on protecting it? What is the best thing to use? Just to protect. I am not looking to refinish this guitar or make it look mint etc. Water thin super glue? will that work with a Martin (I assume Nitro) finish?
Anything else I should be looking at. Just do my own Nitro touch up? I have never messed with Nitro at all FYI

Assuming you remain a home player and have no plans to tour for weeks or months at a time in every temperature/humidity region in North America or beyond and subsequently have a legit reason to cauterize the finish ...
Do nothing.
Seriously, as much can go wrong cosmetically as can go right with everything I could suggest, so you stand to lose more than you stand to gain. That's all the input you get from me, sorry.

LOL
Correct I am not Willie Nelson and its not Trigger.
Thanks I can envision leaving a glob of something on there and trying to smooth out my error for the rest of my life. Spreading the blemish further and further.
Short of spilling water or beer or coffee (i am older now) directly on the spot, is there anything else I should look for to prompt me to do something?
It will get played but lead a charmed existence for as long as I am around.
