It absolutely sucked yesterday. In his short tenure at LSU, that was his worst called game. He did nothing to put LSU in position to win that game. Jordan Jefferson was throwing the ball great, yet he continued to try and force the run.

When you can't run and can't pass, it is hard to call plays. Plus, Jefferson doesn't know the offense, or so that is what the media says.

Yeah forget that Scott had 10 yards rushing all game and it was Jefferson's first real game experience, he came in trailing 21-3, and the defense couldn't stop anyone, NO IT WAS THE OFFENSIVE PLAYCALLING!!

Please...

He made some great throws in the game. 3 or 4 were just obvious drops by our receivers! And, Tolliver is the reason for that interception, not Jefferson. Maybe you need to watch the game over b/c I saw some great upside on Jefferson!

Surely you aren't implying that it was a good throw

he threw well, I thought. Better than I expected of JJ. I'm a huge supporter of Crowton, but the option on 3rd and long was a bad call. At least with a pass, we have a chance of conversion.

So the only game where he had a true freshman playing QB was his worst? Hmmmmmmmmm...

The interception hit Tolliver in the hands and should have been caught. On the play calling I agree it was AWEFUL. 2nd and 3 run, 3rd and 4 run, then punt. Give me a break.

Crowton is overrated, I have seen him call a lot vanilla plays to say he is a spread guy. and before anyone says rookie QB's, his playcalling last year was the same.

I think its partly Miles fault.

I base that on a few quotes. Specifically after the Georgia and Florida games. He said something like he didnt have much confidence in Lee going into those games so the offense was vanilla in the first half, but in the second half they opened up the playbook a bit and the offense did better.

I hate to say that Les is holding Gary back in the play calling, but it sounds like that may be happening.

I partially agree because we still don't have an offensive identity, but that may be due to lack of qb play.

Did it occur to you that perhaps JJ doesn't have a handle on the offense quite yet, and so he has to be pretty vanilla?

Crowton's play calling was brilliant last year, especially in the NC game. Funny how he was the Wizard last year, but the goat this year. So goes the emotions of insecure college fans.

nothing brilliant about last year man, he had an experienced QB and still called a lot of basic stuff, the difference was Flynn who made a lot of mistakes didn't back away from making plays and utilized the talent around him, in the NC game he found a weakness in OSU's defense and that was throwing to the middle of the field, but hell that's what he's paid to do. and I never called him the Wizard like some of y'all do.

Last year we had a quarterback who was experienced and didn't buckle under pressure. Also, he could scramble a little out the pocket. This year his play calling is run-run-pass, 3 and out. Ex. Look how many times he ran the ball on 1st down against Bama and Georgia.
