With the new freshman rule, can they go out of parish? Taxes?
Never played it to my knowledge. He always played with Trey Hawsey, LA Tech’s 1B.

WM recap from their Facebook

Rebels come from behind to beat St Amant 3-2.
After hitting balls hard right at guys all night with nothing to show for it, the Rebels entered the 7th inning down 2-0. The first 4 hitters would reach base. Kade Thomas led off with a single. Brody Taylor followed with a 2 strike single. Jaxson Garner laid down a bunt for a single to load the bases. Kohlson Bible drilled the first pitch he saw for a 2 RBI double. JB Clack grounded out for the first out then Peyton Starr was intentionally walked to load the bases. Bradyn Cupit then singled to give the Rebels their first lead 3-2.
Gage Carr got the Gators 3 up, 3 down in the bottom of the 7th to seal the win.
Brady Guillot went 3 innings in the start and although he was a little off tonight, held St Amant to just two runs. Carr came on in the 4th inning with one on and no outs and got out of the jam when no runs scoring. Carr went 4 innings, no runs, 1 hit, 1 walk, 4 strikeouts, and earned the win.

Garner, Thomas, and Cupit all had two hits in the game.

Rebels will look to go 4-0 in the Patterson Tournament with two games Saturday.

I'm guessing they are all held back in 8th grade?

Used to be you had to make a choice before 6th grade. They reverted back to 8th grade last year. All schools here do it. Ouachita had a ton that held back last year. Ruston has a lot as well.

Our best two players, Ty George-Tulane, and Trez Davis-Washington, weren’t holdbacks. Sam Turner wasn’t nor Kedrian McNeil. Those were pretty firmly 4 of the best 5 on the team this season in football.

From WM Facebook:

Cupit brothers combine on a 2 hit shutout as Rebels beat Dutchtown 7-0.
Senior Bradyn Cupit was electric, striking out 14, walking none, and only allowing a single in 6.1 innings. With one out in the 7th inning, he handed the ball to his younger brother Brentsyn, a freshman. Brentsyn allowed one walk and one hit before ending the game with a strikeout.
The offense was just as dominant with 12 hits.
Peyton Starr- 2 hits, 3 runs
Ryder DeJean- 2 hits, 1 RBi
Brodie Taylor- 2 hits
Carson Hawsey- 2b?, run, RBI
Kade Thomas- hit, 2 RBI

Friday 6:30 vs St Amant
Saturday 10:00 vs Prairieville
12:30 vs Live Oak

Mississippi State with smaller facilities

I honestly feel like it mirrors Ole Miss. Oxford and Ruston are very similar as well. Post tornado, Tech looks like a completely different school. We visited a lot of schools with my kids when they were looking for colleges. If you take the signs off of Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Tech the athletic facilities would be the only thing that separates them imo. In fact, Tech has many facilities nicer than the 2 Mississippi schools.

Should've been WM's first ever title. Bases loaded, no outs, 0-0...didn't score. Lost in 197 innings. That one stings, but that's baseball. Felt sorry for those guys. Thought they had that one.

They're Tech's lone loss on the season in a similar game. They likely saved their dude for this.
Basketball team has some transfers as well, mainly Karl Malone's grandson. He's the best player on the basketball team. Kid is unreal, transferred from Ouachita. His name is Darren Ford. Just a sophomore guard, but I believe he leads the team in scoring.
Shocked no one here told you the first thing to do. Really surprising on the recruiting board.

Recruiting questionnaires. Fill them out to any and all colleges so they can actually contact him. Doesn't matter small or big, fill them out. Also, camps are a great way to get noticed. I agree with that, but you have to have a strategy with those as well. Email the position coach prior to attending camp, even if he doesn't respond hopefully he will see and look for you. In the email include Hudl highlights if possible. Best plays first, keep it short, and no explicit music. I would target small school camps first because once you get an offer, the rest feel obligated if you have the measurables/stats.

15 as an 8th grader

Honest question, do y’all start school at 4 in South LA? I never held back and I turned 14 as an 8th grader. My kids didn’t hold back either, same 14 as 8th graders. Hell, they were the youngest kids in their class honestly girls and boys.
Cupit has been throwing the Thursday game so far.

Not in the 2nd semester. Most turn 16 in the second half of the school year. Looks like he held back once. Elsewhere from WM.

Was at MLK JR (Wossman feeder), then Dad started shopping him around over Christmas break. I guess he ended up at West Ridge. Kid will be a one and done if not in Olympics before he turns 18.

Close, but nope. He went to Carroll because of his dad. Then was supposed to come to west ridge last year. Then MLK hired his dad and he went with him. His brother went to West Ridge and WM, was class president, and attends LSU looking to become a lawyer. Great family and the kid has been winning on a national level for a long time.

It sounds weird until you realize he’s probably the same age as most juniors.

Wait. How is this possible? He just got to West Ridge. How could he possibly hold back somewhere else? That’s completely against the narrative spewed here for years.

STM puts up a fight, scoring 4 in the 7th. Comes up short. WM hags on 9-7 finishing the Trey Altick 3-1. WM heads down south next week to the BR area for a tourney. WM will play Dutchtown Thursday, St Amant Friday, Prairieville and Brother Martin Saturday. Hate we play BM 4th.

WM comes back from 4-0 in the 7th to win 5-4 in 9 over Central. Play St. Thomas More after another game in between. Not sure who plays the in between game.
