Freezer is icing over

My freezer is starting to ice over. I had the appliance repairman over last week and he tinkered with it for a while, but I couldn't talk to him unfortunately because I was out of town when he came. Per his instruction, we left the fridge unplugged for three days and let it completely thaw, then plugged it back in.
We have not even put the food back in the freezer yet and it is already icing over again.
Any one have ideas as to what could be wrong? The seal looks like it is in good shape.

Your defroster or defrost timer went bad. Best guess

Frost buildup over time from opening/closing the freezer is common. Especially a garage freezer in this Louisiana humidity. The freezer is doing it’s job and freezing the little water droplets that collect on your food packaging or freezer walls.
quote:It’s always good to do this maybe once per year to remove any frost buildup. I’m assuming you drained the water and let the freezer dry completely before turning it back on? If it was completely dry when you closed it and turned it back on then you probably have a bad seal. Moisture is getting in there somehow and then freezing.

Thanks.
I assume replacing the seal is an easy DIY? I'm part retard when it comes to fixing things.

Yes it’s pretty easy, even for a retard like you
Jk, just YouTube replacing a freezer door gasket.
Editing to add: The gasket might not be the issue, you can run a few at home tests with a dollar bill to test. It you think it is the seal, then check your model number to help order the right part.

Could be the defrost heater.
