Colleges have become money laundering machines from Fedgov to leftist ideological causes aka “research”. They are no longer primarily focused on learning.
The money doesn’t even pass through the bands of the student. It goes directly to the institutions and then the kid gets what’s leftover. It’s nuts. If you think of it in that light, this sentence from the article can be understood instead of seeming ridiculous:
“no choice but to lower their expectations”
Go outside at sunrise, work until your dick falls off, come in, drink a fifth, do it again tomorrow. For 50 years.

re: What’s the real reason for Trump’s fixation on Venezuela?

The answer is trading oil. Without control or the world’s oil, the fed can’t print dollars. It will collapse. Expect Iran to go soon too. One way or the other.

I don’t think the capacity is even half of what you’re looking for
The problem with round shapes is that all of the strength is in the middle but beams require the strength to be at the top and bottom. This is why I beams look the way they do.

They won’t.

re: Looking for a cool way to surprise my son on Christmas - need ideas

If you can stand the wait, after Christmas take him for a “test drive.”
Bring it home when it’s done.
My buddies helped me with my kids gun like this. Had him hunting ducks in Stuttgart with a “borrowed” left hand 12ga. Told him take it home with him when it was time to leave. Many tears flowed.

re: Elon: “When the mass driver on the Moon gets going, I’m not sure money will be relevant”

Money will remain relevant insofar as you want a bigger dick than your neighbor.
If you think about it, money is already irrelevant in the US. The poorest of people are obese and the middle class “works” 50-60 hours a week only to give away the wages to Walmart and Amazon in exchange for plastic from China that will be in the garbage within 6 months.

You forgot the most important ingredient. More money!!
It doesn’t matter what they mean. The only thing that matters is if people watch them on TB and they make money. For years most of the stadiums have been empty for any games before New Year’s Eve. No one has cared for a long time. But when you’re home on vacation, will you still watch them. I’m guessing yes for the foreseeable future.
re: Bama fans losing mind over their head coach again

Bama’s GDP is less than LA despite having 1M more people.
I have no idea how NFL players compare but in terms of industry they don’t compare.
If you consider GDP per capita, Alabama is near the bottom and LA is middle of the road.

All I can say is, if he thinks he can compete at Florida with kids who intended to go to Tulane, Florida has made a terrible terrible mistake.
