Portable generator-dual fuel

Looking at buying a portable generator and I see they have gas only and gas/propane dual fuel.
I like the propane option because of gasoline storage and what I've read online you lose a little power when using the propane option.
I really don't need a large generator perhaps 4000 watts or less to run only the essentials. I've looked at the Honda 2200i but it's gas only and stingy on gas usage so storage shouldn't be an issue.
Anyone have any experience with dual fuel generators?

I have a tri-fuel (gas, propane, natural gas). I have ran it on natural gas and propane before just to try it and laid test. Haven’t actually used it long term yet. Like you said l, you lose some power going from gas to propane and lose even more when using natural gas. I just made sure I got one with enough power to run the things I need on natural gas, since it’s the lowest amount of output. It has performed well in the little bit of time that I’ve used it. Good thing is, propane and natural gas burns much cleaner than gasoline so your oil doesn’t get contaminated nearly as fast.

Yes I have a three year old dura max 2200 that I only run on Propane. Put soft start on my RV ac and it rocks. Been a champ.

I’m assuming for the same reason you put a soft start on anything and it requires less amps to start?
ETA: as said OP truly a tri fuel is the best, depending on what you have at your house. A dual fuel is only propane and that’s really only worth it if you have a home propane tank at your house that’s 100 or 200 gallons or whatever. To use the little 20lb standard tanks just seems pointless to me? Idk, they aren’t gonna last that long though.
