2009-10?

As a Baton Rouge alumn, I am concerned about our ability to continue to build a competitive program. Here are some facts that we must overcome in 2009-10:
1. Last year we lost 2 games [and escaped an average Alabama squad].
2. This year we have already lost 4 games [and escaped an average Troy squad].
3. Twenty seniors will be exiting.
I am not sure how Coach Miles will [continue to] pitch our program if we continue to lose 2-4 games per year.
Thoughts?

Do yourself a favor and take a little look at 2004.

So did every other major team in college football.

Loss of Perriloux....see Miami Dolphins 07 vs. 08 and what a decent QB has done for their team. We loss our QB who was in line to start so we had a skip a "generation."

And we continue to recruit, coach, etc. It happens.

Best recruiting tool out there. Miles tells them they have a chance to come in and play right away.
LSU is fine.

My point is this - I do not see us being competitive in this conference for several years when replacing 20 seniors with 20 freshman.

All of them are replacable. The hardest areas would be offensive line and Fullback positions, but we have filled in that area b4

+1
20 is not really a bad number. I have seen colleges lose 25-26 players between years.
