This guy knows how to write compelling biographies, let me tell you. Washington is without question one of the enigmatic figures of history as he did A LOT to mask his emotions and orchestrated his actions and decisions as if he knew his life was going to be remembered by history. Chernow does a good job of exploring the nuances of the man's character and tells a very engaging story about the Father of the United States. There's a reason why this won the Pulitzer back in 2011.
I highly recommend giving this one a read. It's a long book but well worth the trouble.

My favorite author. Finished his entire collection recently and it bummed me out. Titan on Rockefeller is also a must read.

I read that one.
An excellent book.
If you want the story to continue after you finish this one, you can read John Adams by David McCollough.

Finished it a couple months ago. The whole portion of the revolutionary war I couldn’t put down. Washington wasn’t the best general and lost more than he won but he by some miracle kept the soldiers together through all the miserable conditions they had to endure and his strive for freedom was second to none
Had a real “what have you done lately?” Feeling after putting this one down lol
