Will be in London over Christmas and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Will be there from the 21st through January 3rd. Everything is pretty much shut down on the 24th and 25th.

Maybe the 26th too as that is Boxing Day. But it is still a good time to go. Not much daylight that time of year.

for new years on the river by Big Ben and the London eye they have their big fireworks show and for Boxing Day try and go to a premier league game because besides that everything else would still be shut.

There will be stuff open, pubs, hotel bars and restaurants, Indian food restaurants. But no tube or buses on Christmas Day. It's a great chance to walk around London with no crowds and really explore the city. There is a swimming race called Peter Pan Cup on Christmas Morning in Hyde park, . On Christmas Eve, there is a Charles Dickens walk, just Google it

Maybe try to go to a English Premier League game or 2. They will each play 3 games within a week so would give you a good opportunity to see a game or 2. Crystal Palace play at home on the 23rd and I love been to a game there. By far one of the best sporting events I’ve ever been to. Luton is also playing at home that day and the stadium sits behind some houses so the only way to access the stadium is by going through some houses.
