re: When will CFB collapse?

They should quit dragging their feet and just make the Big Ten/SEC Superconference. That they've been talking about for well over a decade.

What about Miami? FSU? Clemson? UNC? Virginia? Virginia Tech? Texas Tech? TCU? SMU? Kansas State? Stanford? Notre Dame?

Do away with the conferences, pick 60 or so teams, and created the CFL — the College Football League

The leftovers (ie “Notre Dame’s Schedule”) can form its own league or go play with North Dakota State, Montana, Delaware, Mount Union and the like
Best: Saints and Titans
Worst: Cowboys, Falcons, 49ers
I hate Notre Dame, but Freeman has always struck me as a sharp, stand up guy. He's "GQ," but he's also got that linebacker/safety grit to him. This story doesn't sound too believable to me.

What happened with Leavitt

Posted by GentleJackJones on 1/11/26 at 8:09 am
Can someone give me a breakdown of what happened with Sam Leavitt? Did LSU / Lane piss him and/or his family off (who cares, if so)?

It seemed like it was a done deal.

Why was Lane in Knoxville?

I don’t follow the Portal, so apologies?

We’re all going to be in that spot in short time, pal.
I think they part ways in two years

And yet LSU fans were assuring all on this board that Brian Kelly would lead LSU to the promised land. Should we take LSU fans seriously?

No one has a crystal ball. Kelly at least had an impressive record to go off of. Prior to coming to LSU, Kelly rattled off 5 straight 10+ win seasons. He also has a NC appearance. Most thought Notre Dame was holding back Kelly (whether through academic restrictions, lack of
in state talent, facilities). Turns out, most were wrong and he sucked. If anything, he held Notre Dame back from taking that next step and just completely checked out at LSU.

Think about this…if Smart stepped down, and Golding was on the open market and available, would you want UGA to hire him as HC? How many P4 programs do you truthfully believe would give him a shot…?
I can’t take anyone seriously that thinks they made a good or the right hire. It’s okay to admit that it was a knee jerk reaction to Kiffin leaving and not a wise hire. You, ______ (insert Ole Miss fan on message board), did not personally make the hire. It’s okay to be honest and reflective of the situation. I thought Johnny Jones would be a shite hire for LSU basketball — I didn’t make the hire, I was honest about it. Turns it, it was horrendous! It’s okay to say something that goes against what your school has done … it doesn’t make you any less of a “fanatic.”

I’m sure all the Browns’ fans have just mirthfully sung praises of their head coach and first round draft picks throughout the years ….
That’s rich coming from you if indeed you’re indeed an Auburn fan

Just start posting pictures of them waving Confederate flags, Colonel Reb, and videos of the band playing Dixie.
Tag ESPN, NBC, ABC, the NY Times, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, and Washington Post. Probably solved. LSU is now the good guy again.
This should be and likely will be a great learning lesson.

Future coaches won’t and shouldn’t allow this one-half in, one-half out mess.

You accept a new job, you and your assistants following you, need to solely coach and be present for said new job.
I have a moron friend tell me Kiffin was “holding Ole Miss back.” Hold them back from what exactly…? Their best season in ages? Yeah, enjoy Pete Golding. Best of luck.

Hell, Notre Dame took out two Big 10 teams last year in the playoffs in Indiana and Penn State and SEC alpha male Georgia....and SEC teams havent taken out a Big 10 team in the playoffs in 3 years.....NIL/Portal is changing shite and the blue bloods with money are gonna take over.....you better believe it. Notre Dame, Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State.....Alabama and Georgia dont have a chance against that kind of money....thats why Saban tapped out and said deuces...I'm gone.

I agree with you to an extent, but, in my opinion, it’s always best to be in the states that have local, homegrown talent (ie, the SEC). The money and resources are there from the big teams (Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, A&M etc). Will they occasionally be outbid (See LSU/Michigan - Bryce Underwood), possibly, but the teams, collectively, will be filled out with top talent.

And from a traditional Big Ten sense (ignoring the PAC 12 schools), the Big Ten is solely a two-team league (Indiana, Ohio State). Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and the rest will never win shite. They aren’t even a threat to win. The bigger SEC schools at least have the opportunity or threat to right the ship.
The ND coach stormed after the official, and rightfully so. I wonder if anything will come of that (suspension, termination)?
Mobile's fine. It's cliquey. Midtown and Spring Hill areas are nice, but given the crime and demographics, I'd still opt for Fairhope, Daphne or Spanish Fort.

The best thing about Mobile is the bay and its quick proximity to Daulphin Island, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Ono Island, and so on.
Yea, man…this 2-game streak is all Golding
