At the beginning of the season, Coach Kelly state that the team still had holes, but many people preferred to believe the media hype. It gets down to terrible recruiting between 2019 and 2021,
Here is a list of the guys who were busts in terms of talent and the guys who had legal and/or attitude problems: Desmond Little left program and is now at UAB, Devonta Lee is now at La. Tech, Donte Starks never got to LSU due to weapons charges,John Emery's academic problems basically derailed his career, Joseph Evans left for a career in acting, but I think he is now at UTSA, Kardell Thomas gave it his best shot at LSU and is now a Rattler, Kendall McCallum had a heart that prevented him from going to LSU, Marcel Brooks had issues at LSU and is now at TCU, Maurice Hampton left LSU and is at Memphis, Peter Parish got into trouble at LSU and is now at Texas A&M-Commerce, Ray Parker had legal problems rellated to abusing dogs and beating his girlfriend, Raydarious Jones is at Moo State, Thomas Perry was a bust, Soni Fanua was a bust,T K McClendon left quickly and went to Eastern Kentucky. That is fifteen guys in that one class who basically contributed nothing to our program.

The truth is our evaluations were more ftom the lists abd they were poor.

Just look at the defensive guys we signed in 20 and 21. Many were rated high but many were busts here and elsewhere. We got very little help from those classes even though they were highly rated.

You are right, stars are not always that important. I think it is extremely important to get a prospect to your camp on campus.

I remember Maurice Hampton was a hell of an athlete that played baseball too if that’s the same guy. He was playing as a true freshman in both sports if I recall correctly.

Truth is Kelly has only one recruiting class and that one was during a dumpster fire. The 2024 will is HIS first one. Amazing he was able yyo win the SEC West and play Georgia for the title.

This is not rocket science. Kelly needs his own recruits to be judged fairly. Keep in mind it was Kelly who brought JD and Diggs here. JD is now a legitimate Heisman candidate and Diggs has been great for us.

College Football is a "big" money business, and we should believe that our Admin. Has retained the most skilled coaches available and that said coaches have acquired the most skilled players available. Not trying to be sarcastic but it is apparent that one or more of those beliefs are misplaced.
