If they fire Weis, anyone think it's gonna happen? On college football live they were talking about how there would be mutual interest between both parties if there is a vacancy.

I think Saban is going to be @ Bama for the next 10 years...he made enough of a mistake leaving LSU, I don't think he will make the same mistake again...

why? ND has it made as far as the BCS goes and they have a couple of real games a year, the rest of the time they are playing for the Commander in Chief's trophy. easy to recruit there too.

Urban has Norte Dame ties right? So why wouldn't he be considered? Being how stupid he is, he may bail and go to ND

I was thinking somewhere along the lines, but anyway I know its most likely not going to happen, but what do you think the chances are of him going to ND?

Why Notre Dame is not a good job; because, it is too tough to recruit top athletes and still have the high academic standards they desire.

I remember, that is one of the reasons why Meyer did not take it last time.

Realistically, Bama ain't LSU, and Saban must know that now. Yes, he would be in a bigger pantheon of G-ds at Notre Dame, but there would be no giant ghostly figure standing behind him at every PC. Also, IF he were to leave Bama for any other job(s), Notre Dame has to be on the very, very short list (like Notre Dame, Penn State, and LSU).

ETA: I think Sexton gets a 10 to 15% boost for Saban, from Bama, because of the ND vacancy. That was the main reason for the no buyout clause, so that in every successful year, Sexton can shop Saban to every high profile NCAA or NFL program, then go back to Bama and get a counter offer. Notre Dame, and the NFL is one of the few places that Bama might not be able to top.
