of why you don't fire a head coach for one bad year.

Thanks ... that's helpful.

YES, we should fire a coach 3 years after going undefeated

I dont like Tubby and I dont like Auburn for that matter either. However, firing Tubby has got to be one of the absolutely dumbest thing I have ever heard.

I don't think anyone has suggested firing Miles. The suggestions I've seen are to fix the staff problems. W/o this we do not improve the defense will never get the confidence of the players back. It's very obvious and becoming well documented that there are tremendous locker room problems and lack of respect for the staff. If Les makes good staff adjustments and hires a DC that commands the respect Pelini had he will be on the right track. If he insists on keeping Malveto, then the future becomes quite interesting.

Never, never fire a coach, unless you have one as good or better lined up...

That's pretty much the rule in dealing w/ any necessary employee.

Pretty sure Tubby walked out on his own accord.

No
1) No one seriously wants to fire Miles. Even if we did the PR hit would too extreme to do it
2) The Tubbs/Miles comparison isn't accurate at all.
3) Auburn could still end up getting a good coach out of this.

quote:I agree. I think Tubby himself got his team into a bad spot this year and realized he had almost as many enemies within as he had outside the program. His self inflicted wounds became terminal because no one wanted to help him from the inside. When he realized how joyless the program was with him personally I think it took the heart out of him and after some introspection he realized all he wanted was "out."
Pretty sure Tubby walked out on his own accord.

I will agree though that Tubbs screwed up the Tony Franklin situation, but I don't think he want to leave.

If this is true then Auburn's AD and President deserve Oscar nominations for the press conference when they both somberly stated that they did not want this for Auburn football.

Did you expect them to say. "Yeah frick him, we wanted that bitch gone."

He did not get fired nor did he get run out of town. He wanted to take time away from CFB.
Find me a link that disputes this.
Good luck.
