What kind of alcohol do you put in this? I can't stand it plain, and have had it with alcohol in it before, but don't know what to put in it.

I would recommend bourbon or brandy.

I've been making a "Mr. Boston" recipe for several years, "Ambassador's Morning Lift" -

Ambassador's Morning Lift Recipe

Ingredients
3 oz. Rum
3 oz. Creme de Cacao
6 oz. Cognac (I use "cheap" brandy instead - E and J; has a stronger flavor. Cognac would be wasted in this recipe.)
32 oz. Egg Nog

Enjoy!

Southern Comfort - the sweetness seems to work well
