I do the same thing... $50 Starbucks cards to family and friends. I never cared about a response but this year I'll call and make sure they got it because I don't trust the post office. They make too many mistakes these days. What has changed? Not sure, but when I was young 90% of the employees I encountered were male. Now it's 90% female.

How does wanting to make America great divide the populace? Other than antagonizing those who want America to fail.
I'd be impressed if he raped a wolverine.
re: Gun to your head have to choose to follow one: Trump or Leo?
Posted by Zach on 4/18/26 at 10:38 am to RanchoLaPuerto
I'm a big Trump fan. But if given the choice of having lunch with President Biden or Leo I'll take Leo. He's the first Pope who speaks English and Biden is the first U.S. President who can't speak English.

Zach has never used illegal drugs, Mkay. But I was in school when the craze hit in the 60s. LSD was credited with giving some rock bands inspriration for hits...like The Beatles. Marijuana was very common but studies proved a correlation between it's use and lower college GPAs among students with identical I.Q.s. The main cause was putting off assignments until you just scratched something together right before deadline and got a 'D'.
More recently there was a study that weed use causes early senility.

The biggest cultural change now is 'no jail time for crime.' I'll tell my grandchildren how back in the day we didn't lock our front doors and we left our keys in the car. And nothing in the grocery store was locked in a cabinet.

 I have no idea what NCLB is.

he may want to write a book. I doubt he has the energy or the will to step into that role.
He should do some speaking at college assemblies. He's great and Q and A after a short presentation.

Do some actually advocate it because they could legitimately teach better without having to spend so much time preparing kids specifically for testing?
I never had a teacher preparing us for testing. They taught the material. You learned it or you didn't. If the teacher was really good then the side effect was you doing better on the test.
The important thing was putting the best teachers in the best classes. My HS G.T. teachers were the most knowledgeable and the fastest at covering material because all of their students were very high I.Q. Putting that teacher in charge of dumb arse kids would have been a waste. Kids are not equal. You cannot make them equal. But the colleges keep trying.
From the very beginning of Castro's govt. their leaders have explained that Cuba's communism would work great except for the U.S. sanctions against them. The people probably bought that. But, it's been over 60 years and their govt is still using that excuse. Do the Cuban people still buy it? I doubt it.
Chuck Schumer is getting too far right wing for Dems
Posted by Zach on 4/17/26 at 4:19 am
The fight between commies and centrists is getting hot. From the latest email I got from "Justice" dems:
quote:
One of our top party leaders would rather give a genocidal state more resources to illegally destroy Palestinian and Lebanese villages than listen to the vast majority of Democratic voters who oppose our tax dollars being used to conduct ethnic cleansing.
quote:
Sen. Schumer is out of touch with the Democratic base and the nation as a whole. It’s time for him to step aside from leadership.

Well, I agree with cubbies. The proper rehab would be fast, cheap and simple. One week in the hospital after removing his balls and then release him. Warning him that Mr. Weiner is next if he commits another crime.
re: Biden roasted after he awkwardly referred to a Black man as “Barack” during a speech
Posted by Zach on 4/16/26 at 4:11 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
It's totally understandable. 'Black' and 'Barack' have 4 letters in common. Anyone could get confused.

still think they have shite on Trump?
Every time Trump goes trolling they would love to slam him as being a total moron....a mental midget. But they would be trying to sell that right after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. It just wouldn't sell with the public.
re: Reminder to our Catholic friends

I've never been anti-semitic. It's not something I was taught. It's always been my preferance to hang around people with high IQs. All of my Jewish classmates in HS and college were very smart....except one. I asked one of my Jewish friends about that one. He said: 'Oh, he's the only stupid Jew in town.'
Young people need to pick college degrees that relate to demand. Years ago it was 'Be a doctor or a lawyer'. It's a much cheaper and shorter path to being a nurse or medical lab tech and those jobs have high demand. And we already have more lawyers than the rest of the world combined. It's not a guarantee of financial success.
re: 10% of vets were actively engaged in combat 28% receiver PTSD disability???

I know some vets who got some extra pay because during duty they breathed in some toxic air blowing in the wind and got a bad cough.
The USSR had state owned supermarkets. Neal Boortz told the story of a Russian journalist and his wife who got permisstion to visit just before the fall of the govt.
They went to a typical large store like Krogers and their eyes just widened. The wife said "Oh, this must be the store for government officials." Boortz replied: 'No, this is for everyone.' They were shocked that something like this existed.

Does anyone here remember Kirsten Powers, the beautiful leftist who dated Anthony Weiner? She wrote an excellent book about how she became a conservative when she started going to church and her leftist friends mocked her for it.
