Anybody even tried lately with all the freshwater?

My fishing boat is down with a motor rebuild. We are heading down for the weekend. Considered maybe taking the kids crabbing. We usually just go near the SW barrier but I would imagine it is way to fresh.

Where is the sw barrier?
Hit the Sabine crabbing spots and cross your fingers, it’s going to be packed so leave early. Tons of campers and sxs heading south today when I left HB.

Only thing I’ve heard so far is the crabbing has been weak. With the drought last year, the marshes got too salty and wrecked the breeding grounds.

Hope I’m wrong though. I’d like to take the kids again this summer. They had a blast last year.

Well, we chose to just stay around the camp on the West fork and swim, ski, and rope swing.

Did not hear any good reports and I have no interest in getting chewed up by bugs trying to bank fish crabs shoulder to shoulder with mouth breathers on a holiday weekend.

Hopefully it clears up some and we can get after them later in the summer. Kids love catching them and everybody loves eating them.
